Dear Staff:
Next Wednesday, December 23, we will have an opportunity to be good stewards (careful and responsible managers) of our resources.
Not only are you doing your part to help conserve resources, but you can also win lunch for two.
Please see the attached forms to help us make this the best Winter
Break shutdown that we have had.
I recently had an opportunity to see some Loess Hills Elementary students “school” adults about computer programming and listened on another day to North High students craft poignant documentaries about immigration.
I know how much behind ‐ the ‐ scenes work goes into providing these kinds of opportunities for our students.
A week later, the US EPA and Department of Energy sent 2015
Energy Star certifications to 21 of our buildings.
Energy Star certified buildings typically use 35% less energy and generate 35% fewer greenhouse gases, which cumulatively has a significant environmental
impact: Energy Star buildings annually save 135 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions from entering the atmosphere.
Thanks for all that you do to conserve future resources for our kids while providing them with outstanding opportunities.
Have a great Winter Break, and thanks for your help next Wednesday!
