Special Vendor Instructions Sheet – Goods Being Repaired/Replaced In order for the University to receive duty/tax relief for goods returning after repair or replacement, Canada customs requires the following information to be declared on documentation, regardless of the value of the goods: • Complete description of the goods using the following guidelines: o Description (i.e. blood pressure monitor), Make, model, serial numbers, if available, o Composition i.e. stainless steel / glass), and o Function and use, (i.e.-used to measure and record blood pressure in humans) • Country of Origin (country where the goods were manufactured); • Accurate value of the repair or replacement (including parts and labour), even if they were under warranty; include work orders showing the values, if available; • Currency; • Quantity; • Weight, and shipping terms (INCO Terms); • Reason for export to Canada; must indicate one of the following statements: o “Goods returning to Canada after warranty repair”, o “Goods returning to Canada after non-warranty repair”, o “Replacement goods shipped to Canada to satisfy a warranty arrangement”, or o “Replacement goods shipped to Canada – Non-warranty” For additional information, please refer to: Canada Border Services Agency www.cbsa.gc.ca
