Voith Paper DuoShake™ The reaction-force-free shake DuoShake™ The success component for improved sheet formation Sheet formation has a considerable influence on paper quality. The DuoShake – the shake for the breast roll – ensures a more homogeneous distribution of the fibers and a greater alignment of the fibers in cross-machine direction. The result is better formation and a lower MD/CD tensile ratio. Your advantage: an overall better quality level. Due to the rotation, forces are created which are transmitted with a shake rod to the breast roll. In contrast to conventional shakes, the system vibrating freely in horizontal direction transmits only negligibly small frictional and centering forces to the foundation. The unbalance masses move in opposite directions within a pair of masses and are arranged so that the vertical forces cancel each other out. The stroke results from the position of the pairs of masses related to each other. 2 DuoShake™ in commercial operation The scope of supply includes the DuoShake, an operator terminal and the control and drive engineering integrated into a control cabinet. Operation: Enter the operating point, switch on and everything else takes place automatically. Efficient sensors monitor the allowable operating values. If these are exceeded, safety shutdown takes place. The operator terminal is ergonomically designed and the screen form provides uncluttered information. Faulty operation is virtually ruled out, as all settings are menu-guided. Any faults are displayed in plain text. DuoShake™ and what you get from it The DuoShake allows infinite adjustment of the shake stroke and frequency during operation of the paper machine. There is no mechanical adjustment of the stroke, the system is extremely robust and can be used with little maintenance. Below the limiting curves, any combination of stroke and frequency is possible. Solid advantages The foundation has to carry only the dead weight of the DuoShake. There is no transmission of disturbing vibrations to the headbox and wire section. The design is compact, robust and encapsulated. The carriage is hydrostatically supported, lubrication is integrated with the system and ensured by the circulation principle. Drive is direct by 3-phase AC servomotors, which feature low electrical power input. In production After starting, first the oil supply for the hydrostatics and circulating lubrication is activated. Then the two unbalance masses run in synchronism and, after reaching a preset minimum wire speed, the DuoShake runs to the preset operating values. The control unit The electrical control and power infeed unit of the 3-phase AC servomotors is housed in a control cabinet. Via an operator terminal for console or control center installation, the operating data are entered and the operating messages displayed.
