Pilsen Region Basic information The Pilsen Region is situated in the southwest part of the Czech Republic. It borders the Bavarian region of Germany to the west. The largest cities in the Pilsen region are: Pilsen, Klatovy and Domažlice. There are two universities in the Pilsen Region: Western Bohemia University, which offers education in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied sciences (incl. cybernetics, informatics, IT), economics, General Information law, education, philosophy and arts (7 faculties) and the medical faculty of Charles University in Prague. It is a traditional centre of engineering and the electro-technical industry, which has recently grown very rapidly. Among the most important food processing companies in the region are Plzeňský Prazdroj a.s., STOCK Plzeň a.s. and BOHEMIA SEKT, a. s.in Starý Plzenec. The Pilsen region is also attractive for investors, especially because of its location.
