FM1d series
Application:
The FM1D Series Timers are compact electronic 24-hour/7-day time switch modules with heavy duty
relay contacts for switching low or line voltage loads. Time Based Control of lighting, ventilating,
heating, cooling or other electrical loads in commercial and industrial applications. The FM1D Series
Time Switches are programmable for 24-hour or 7-day schedules.
The FM1D20A and FM1D50A Series Time Switches are intended for either surface or DIN Rail mounting.
The control is completely enclosed in a plastic housing and includes a terminal cover and sub-base for
installation and hard wiring.
The FM1D20E Series and FM1D50E Series Time Switches are intended for flush (panel) mounting.
Both models are supplied with a clear plastic dust cover. (Part#DC-FME for replacement order – P.O.A.)

The ET616 is a wall mounted Electronic Time Switch which automatically turns lights or other loads
off after a preset time period. When used for control of lights in a conference room, rest room, or
similar temporary-use room, it functions like a standard light switch, turning the lights ON when
the button is pressed, and OFF when pressed again. If left ON, it will automatically go off after a
time period settable from 1 minute to 12 hours via tamper-proof DIP switches. It is also suitable
for the control of tanning beds, fans, heaters, chemical pumps, laboratory apparatus, and other
applications requiring a preset ON time and automatic shutoff.

These energy saving timers use no electricity to operate. These timers are designed to
replace any standard wall switch, single or multi-gang, and automatically limit the “ON”
time of fans, lights, motors, heaters and other energy consuming loads. Time limits of 5,
15, 30 and 60 minutes and 2, 4, 6 and 12 hours are available.
The “hold feature” allows the user to override the automatic shut-off function for extended
use of the load as required. Supplied with a molded white, ivory or almond time dial plate
designed to fit either toggle or decorator style switch plates; single or multi-gang with no
field modifications required to fit either style switch plate. Time saving “up front” terminal

GM40 Series
Specifiers guide
Furnish and install a GM40 Multi-Volt Series 24-hour or (7-day) time switch with captive triggers and quartz or synchronous
drive. Input voltage shall be 120, 208/240 or 277VAC selectable via simple to set DIP switch. All units shall incorporate both
SPDT or DPDT contacts that shall be rated at 40A, 2 HP @ 277V. To set the starting time and to provide time indication, the
unit shall have an authentic clock face with hour and minute hands. LED indicators shall provide Power and Status feedback.
Enclosure shall be NEMA 3R suitable for both indoor or outdoor installation.
Time switch shall contain an OFF/AUTO/ON manual override.
For Carry-over: The time switch shall have a quartz drive with 7-day reserve carry-over.

Note: Although the FM1D models contain some
degree of spike and electrical noise protection, as
with all electronic devices, these units can be affected by electrical noise. Therefore, it is recommended
that they be powered from a voltage source that has
no switching devices or inductive loads connected.

MOUNTING OPTIONS:
The standard FM1D models may be surface
mounted inside a panel or flush mounted with FM-FU
mounting kit, available from Intermatic. Indoor NEMA
1, and outdoor NEMA 3R enclosures are available
for stand-alone mounting. Consult Intermatic catalog
or price sheet for various options.
FM1D20A and FM1D50A models are available
with screw terminals and din rail mounting.
FM1D20E and FM1D50E models are available for
flush mounting and include a protective housing.

SURFACE MOUNTING—FM1D20A and FM1D50A
Remove dust cover, loosen two screws on opposite corners.
Remove the housing that surrounds the time switch and the
terminal cover away from the base. Remove timer module by
pulling straight out.
Place screws through 3 mounting holes in base and screw to
back panel or wall.
Wire in accordance with instructions. Replace terminal cover
and push timer firmly onto base. Now replace housing and
secure with screws.
PANEL MOUNTING—FM1D20E and FM1D50E
Cut a square hole 2-5/8” x 2-5/8” (66mm x 66mm) in the front
of the panel. Insert the time switch through the opening. With
a screwdriver, press down and turn outer screws (A) until
flanges are in position to fasten the unit in front panel, then
release. Insert plugs into holes (B).
