Brief to Anhui University of Technology
Anhui University of Technology (AHUT), founded in 1958, is renowned for its study of metallurgy
and materials science, and boasts its strengths in chemical engineering, electrical engineering,
mechanical engineering, and computer science. At the same time, it offers well developed programs
in science, humanities, economics, management, law and arts. The university is located in
Ma’anshan, Anhui Province, a city with titles of “National Garden City”, “Top Quality Environment
City”, “National Tourism City”, and very close to Nanjing, the “Capital City for Six Dynasties in
Ancient China”.
AHUT is a key institution of higher learning in Anhui Province, one of the 100 key universities in
central and western China receiving privileged support from the Chinese Ministry of Education
(MOE), and also a higher institution listed by MOE for implementing “Outstanding Engineering
Education Plan”. Its undergraduate teaching is rated “Excellence” in MOE’s national
teaching-quality assessment.
AHUT consists of 2 campuses, covering a total area of 1.64 million square meters. The libraries on
the two campuses provide an access to 2.67 million collections and 71 academic databases. The
university has 17 schools (or divisions) with 64 bachelor-degree programs, 59 master-degree
programs, and 6 doctor-degree programs. Currently, it has 19, 574 undergraduate students, over
2,145 graduate students, and over 1,230 faculty including 600 full professors and associate
professors.

a. Chinese language study is divided into beginners class and intensive class. Students can choose to
study for 2 months, 6 months, 1 year or even longer.
b. All courses at AHUT are available to non-degree seeking students with no limitation to study
period.
◆ Admission requirements
a. No specific language requirements for language beginners. For intensive language learning, basic
communication skills are required.
b. For courses study, basic Chinese or English language skills are required.

1. Fill in and submit personal information online and pay the university 400 RMB or 70 US dollars
for application fee (non-refundable). And the university’s bank account information is as the

2. After first-round qualifications review, original copies of related documents are delivered to Int’l
Exchange and Cooperation Center, Anhui University of Technology;
3. The University International Students Admission Committee evaluates applicant’s complete
documents;
4. After evaluation, qualified applicants will receive offers by email. After students pay 500 US
dollars for room deposit, the university deliver the original offers and other official visa
documents including JW202 form;
5. Students apply for study visas at Chinese consulate or embassy;
6. Students arrive at the university for registration.
