Tel-O-Pole II/The “No Twist” Stick
The Tel-O-Pole can be used for opening and closing
disconnect switches, replacing fuses in porcelain-type
cut-outs, pruning tree limbs, or replacing lamps in street
circuits.
This hot stick offers a unique triangular design. All
models are heavy duty designed.
All sections are made of reinforced high density electrical grade fiberglass laminate with unusual color stability,
greater strength and high dielectric properties. Tubular
sections are engineered to allow for air circulation. Condensation and moisture is not trapped when the stick is
retracted.
The stick has a patented interlock feature allowing it to be
locked in lengths listed by means of one pin locking two
or more sections. The top section on all Tel-O-Pole Hot
Sticks is insulated with a fire retardant polyurethane foam
core. The foam is applied with an exclusive process to
eliminate voids between the foam and the tool wall, which
eliminates trapped moisture.

The Tel-O-Pole II offers the following features:
Each stick has sure-lock joints and the newly designed
corona free discharge heads. These heads equally discharge current into the air. This provides greater safety
when using Tel-O-Poles on EHV voltages. These poles
provide long reach, speed, convenience, and safety.
• Triangle Shape - Enables each section to “lock in automatically.” No
more twisting and turning to lock sections.
• High Visibility - Fluorescent tip section is highly visible and has a
foam core. All tip sections are 1.15” diameter. All sections are 100%
tested per OSHA and ASTM F-711.
• Re-Designed Lock Buttons - New shape and larger size are
easier to operate with and without gloves.
• More Versatile - Use only the number of required sections to perform each job, allowing for a lighter tool to perform the work easier.

This heavy-duty Tel-O-Pole includes English scale measurement graduations for eye-level reading. Painted
graduations are silk-screen printed directly on the fiberglass sections, and will not chip or peel. The surface is
then re-coated with a hard, high-gloss epoxy finish. Foot
markings are printed in large, easy to read numerals. The
graduations are marked to measure in feet, inches, and

Shotgun Sticks
These shotgun sticks are constructed of electrical grade
fiberglass. The superior head design is molded of nonconductive polycarbonate. It is durable, impact resistant,
and withstands extreme temperatures. These shotguns
come in several models and offer the following features

• Extended length spear offers easy method of locating the eye of hot

Switch and Disconnect Sticks
These switch and disconnect sticks are constructed of
woven fiberglass materials. A special manufacturing
technique assures uniformity of glass fiber distribution and
full elimination of resin-rich areas which cause chipping
and glass fiber peel. Unicellular core is self-extinguishing and resistant to cleaning fluids and solvents. Safety
bright yellow color is an integral part of the laminate and
will not chip or peel. The hard-gloss, porosity-free epoxy
finish is easy to keep clean. Switch and disconnect heads
are made of tough, high-tensile, cast bronze, designed to
NEMA standards. Insulated head is made of fiberglass
with a non-metallic NEMA-shaped prong. All sticks are
tested per ASTM F-711, and OSHA.

trucks, fences, etc. These hot stick storage canister-containers are constructed of top grade aluminum castings
and heavy duty P.V.C. tubing to help prevent sag and the
formation of aluminum oxide. The aluminum end cap is

Multi-Purpose Holding Tool
These multi-purpose holding tools are used for holding
slack conductors during sleeving. Provides positive
control for shaping and bending jumpers and buss wires.
Excellent means of applying factory formed tie wires,
armor rods, and securing captured hardware during
crimping operation.
Main fiberglass portion is 1” diameter, fabricated with
finely woven cloth, giving maximum strength with minimum
weight and size. The 5/8” operating rod is designed to
withstand the highest torque obtainable by hand. Both

Universal Hot Sticks
This stick is designed especially for use in close confines
of substations. With this stick, the problem of threading
long sticks through substation structures is eliminated.
Sticks are adjustable to length in one foot increments,
therefore multiple length stick requirements are eliminated. Also, this stick eliminates the need for costly
extra long canisters. The top section is the conventional
1 1/4” diameter hot stick, with fire retardant unicellular
core. The top section can also be removed for use as
a single one piece hot stick. The base section is 1 1/2”
diameter. Extended length is shown at each lock position
for reference. The top section must extend beyond the
base before the lock will engage, giving full protection of
fire retardant unicellular core. This stick is available with
standard NEMA high tensile bronze disconnect head,
switch head, or universal head, “fit on type.”
These universal hot sticks have a universal head which
adapts to all standard universal fits on tools. These fiberglass hot sticks are constructed of a fine grade woven
fiberglass material. They contain a unicellular core, and
are fabricated especially to withstand high torque and
unusual strength requirements. The color of these sticks
is standard safety yellow, and each universal hot stick has

In addition to other uses in the utility industry, blanket
clamp pins can be effectively used to hold insulating blankets in place. Springs are used for tension while extra
holes in the body of the pin are used to grip conductors
and prevent line hose from sliding. These pins are made
of fiberglass reinforced nylon,

sliver-free hardwoods. They

Salisbury Insulating Plastic Guards/Covers
Air gap pole guards are installed before setting new poles
to guard against accidental line contact. They also guard
against pole contacts by personnel working in insulating
aerial buckets or on platforms. Pole guards are made
from orange thermoplastic, Type I ABS, cold weather,
high impact plastic, Grade III. The air gap design features
uniformly spaced dimples, which minimizes the amount
of surface area contacting the pole. This provides added
insulation to keep electrical leakage to a minimum. When
two pole guards are used to cover longer lengths, the Air
Gap dimples nest together “locking” the two together with
ample overlap. The Air Gap design also allows for air flow
between it and the pole minimizing moisture condensation and contamination buildup. Pole guard use should
be limited to brush contact. The opening should face
away from possible line contacts, whenever possible.
Pole guards should be stored indoors to avoid prolonged
exposure to UV rays and should be cleaned with a warm
detergent solution. Class 4, drilled handle.
Versa guards make use of air as well as the dielectric
strength of plastic to provide total insulating value. This
guard is 7” in diameter and has a hook-shaped inner lip
to keep it in place. With a voltage rating of 34.5 kV, this
guard is designed so that two guards can be telescoped
together to cover most 13 kV single and double arm, pin,
and post constructions.

Silicone Treated Wiping Cloth
For added safety and increased life of live line tools,
use these silicone-treated cloths. They deposit a water
repellent film while removing dust and dirt particles from
the surface of hot sticks and insulated tool handles. The
18”x18” cotton cloth has an open-type weave specially
selected for removing foreign material from the surface
of insulated tools. It has bound
edges to eliminate fraying which
extends the life of the cloth. The
cloth is packaged in a sealed
plastic bag with instructions for
compliance with OSHA regulations for cleaning and inspection

Hot Stick Wipes
These hot stick wipes are excellent for daily wiping of your
hot sticks prior to use. These wipes remove contaminants
such as dirt, oils, creosote, and other undesirable matter.
The hot stick wipe is individually packaged and leaves a
silicone moisture barrier which enables water to “bead up.”
This eliminates the “blanket effect” when using hot sticks in wet

The boom-mounted lift arm can be utilized as a 3 phase
or a 1 phase lifting attachment when mounted to derrick
trucks and aerial trucks that have lifting capabilities. It
can be used for change-out of poles, cross-arms, insulators, and mid-span lifting requirements.
The lift arm can be mounted to a square, rectangular,
round, or oval boom by ordering the proper boom adapters and blocks. The boom-mounting assembly features
a ratchet, which allows the arm to be positioned under
