All you need to do is take a small length of wire about 10cm. Strip off a small amount of insulation on one end of the wire and crimp on a female wire terminal. These will be used to attach to the tapped wires and will make it easier to connect or disconnect the wires with ease. Because the female ends are shielded with plastic, it is safe to leave them disconnected when/if not in use. 

Here you can see we have cut a small 10cm piece of wire and crimped on the end of it a female spade terminal. Crimp a female spade terminal to the wire you want to connect. 
Tap into the stock wire by crimping the wire tap to the two wires. LED86.com.au
Removing the Stock Rear Fog Lamp 1. Begin by removing the trunk mat. 2. Remove the foam pieces as well. There are some clips which are either removed by prying them out or pulling towards you with some force. 3. There are a few clips on the back of the plastic trim that you need to remove first. 4. With the clips out you can then remove the plastic trim by pulling it upwards with some force. 5. Disconnect the rear fog wire harness. 6. Disconnect from the rear fog the 2 reverse bulbs and the rear fog bulb. You can remove these bulb sockets by twisting to unlock and pull them out. 7. Remove the halogen bulbs from the socket ends. 8. You now need to remove the stock rear fog. There are a few pieces that hold it in place. 2 clips that you pry off on the left and right sides. 2 bolts on the top of the rear fog, and finally a small plastic stub at the bottom. NOTE: This part is probably the most difficult. Use the correct tools. A 10mm socket wrench will help a lot to remove the bolts. They are held in very tight. You need to slowly apply pressure to the bolts to get them to release their grip. The bottom tab is kind of a V shape. Push in the tabs in the centre and wriggle the rear fog free. The stock rear fog is pretty fragile so be careful not to break any parts or the base plastic tab. LED86.com.au
Wiring the Auto Revitalization Rear Fog Lamp 1. On the inside of the boot follow the stock rear fog cable to the car frame. You will see a small rubber stopper. Push it in so you have room to push through the AR extension wire. Drop the extension wire to the ground and feed through enough extension wire to reach the new rear fog. 4. On the left hand side you will see the harness connector for the left hand tail light. This is where you can connect the extension wires yellow and red. See diagram below of the harness face. 1 – Black 2 – Yellow with green stripe 1 2 3 – Red 3 4 4 – Light green 2. Split and pull back some of the rubber tubing on the extension wire and take the black wire, make sure it can reach the ground point on the chassis that is just above the stock rear fog harness. 3. Crimp onto the end of the black wire the metal “O” ring. Undo the ground point bolt on the chassis. You can put the AR rear fog ground point to this position. 5. Remove some of the electrical tape on the harness to get more room to make the connection with the wire taps. 6. For the red position bar on the rear fog. Connect the “red” extension wire to the tail light harness wire “red”. NOTE: Optional 3x brake rear fog flash function. Follow the next step otherwise to not use the 3x flash function DO NOT follow the next step. 7. For the 3x flash on brake function. Connect the ”yellow” extension wire to the tail light harness “light green” wire. LED86.com.au
8. Connect the 2 reverse light sockets to the rear fog reverse light connectors. Check the reverse lights are working. If not turn the connector 180 and check again. Once confirmed working, insert the sockets and twist to lock into the rear fog. 9. Connect the rear fog socket to the rear fog connector (middle connector). Check the light is working and if not rotate 180 and try again. Once confirmed twist and lock in place 10. Take the extension cable and yellow, red and black wires on the back of the rear fog. Slide on a piece of the heat shrink tubing on one of the wires you are going to join together. 11. Strip back some in the wire insulation and twist the wire ends together with their corresponding colors. Eg. black to black, red to red, yellow to yellow. 12. Use a heat source such as a lighter to heat up the shrink tubing around the twisted connection. NOTE: Don’t apply a direct open flame. Just run the flame across the surface and it will shrink. 13. Check the position light bar is working. If not check all your wiring. 14. If you opted to connect the 3x flash function, check the function is working. If not recheck your wiring. 15. Begin using zipties to keep the wires out of sight and away from resting on the exhaust. 16. Reverse the procedure to put everything back together and you are done! LED86.com.au
