▌Required Actions▐
WARNING
When installing this product, be sure to follow the procedure explained in “Section 3
Installation”.
Failure to do so could result in damage to the product, fire, or injury.
ATTENTION
● Before using this product, be sure to read the instruction manuals for the equipment to
which it is connected.
Specialized knowledge of both equipment and related instrumentation is required to use
this product.
● Before touching this product, be sure to touch a nearby metal area to discharge any static
electricity.
Failure to do so could cause this product to be damaged by static electricity that has built
up in your body.
● Use a delayed circuit protector.
Failure to do so could result in the product becoming damaged by the inrush electrical
current when the power supply is turned on. The level of inrush current is several times
greater than normal input current. (The level of inrush current will differ depending upon
the timing when the power supply is turned on, and the impedance of the supply source.)
● When performing a mega test (insulation test) on signal transmission cables, be sure to
remove the cables from the driver (transducer) and signal conditioner.
In addition, be sure to short-circuit the cables before reconnecting them after a mega test
to discharge any electrical charge.
Connecting cables with an electrical charge to the driver or signal conditioner could result
in damage to the product.
● Perform the following measures to ensure the stability of the system.
- Be sure to install surge killers on the product and related equipment, as well as on the
relays around the signal cables connecting the equipment.
- Tighten installation screws to securely fix all units.
- Install an interlock function on the system to prevent misoperation in the event of
trouble with the product.
● If any of the following situations occur, stop using the product and contact the sales office
where it was purchased for assistance.
Continuing to use the product in abnormal conditions could result in fire or damage.
- When the product emits foul odors
- When the product becomes abnormally hot
- When the product falls or is dropped
- When the product’s case becomes damaged
● When storing the product, place it in a location free from direct sunlight. Store it in a
location free from high temperature, high humidity, and corrosive gas.
- Temperature: −40 to 70°C
- Humidity: 10 to 90% RH (no condensation)

ATTENTION
● Standard specifications, when measuring range and full range of input LVDT are the same.
● Satisfy the following when using LS Series LVDT :
1≦
Full range of input LVDT
≦2
Measuring range
● Satisfy the following when using single coil type LVDT except LS Series LVDT :
1)Impedance

- When there is an abnormality in the LVDT or signal cable (breaking in LVDT wiring, breaking or short
circuit in signal cable).
However, there may be some instances where these conditions will not be detected.
-When there is an abnormality in LVDT excitation output (oscillation has stopped).
Burn-down function:
The burn-down function is used to reduce output to indicate that the product is not taking measurements.
The burn-down function is used in the following situations to reduce output to F.S. –20% (0.8mA DC or
0.2V DC) or lower.
● When there is an abnormality in the LVDT or signal cable (breaking in LVDT wiring, breaking or short
circuit in signal cable)
● When there is an abnormality in LVDT excitation output (oscillation has stopped)
The delay will be triggered and the burn-down function continued in the following situations.
● Approximately 10 seconds after a normal input signal is recovered
● Approximately 10 seconds after the power supply is turned on

Wire connections
WARNING
● Wiring and wire connections should be performed by a qualified technician.
● Be sure to install an earth wire. In addition, DO NOT turn on the power before all wiring
and wire connection work is complete. Doing so could result in electric shock.
Make wire connections in the following order.
1. Connect the transducer.
2. Connect the output signal receiver.
3. Connect the power supply.
4. Check all connections.
Point
Flexible, stranded electrical wire is recommended for wiring. Round,
crimped terminals (JIS C 2805, or similar) with good contact and resistant
to degradation over time are recommended.
3.3.1
Connecting the transducer
Connect the transducer as explained below.
● It is recommended that you use a 0.75 to 2mm2 3-wire shielded cable
Point
between the signal conditioner socket and junction terminal, or
backplane unit and junction terminal.
●
It is recommended that non-shielded areas be kept to a length of no
more than 100mm.
