Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Finance JACK WELCH COLLEGE OF BUSINESS Program Overview PROGRAM BENEFITS The 45-credit Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Finance at Sacred Heart University (SHU) is an applied research doctorate, focused on real-world cases and data. The program is designed for business executives and practitioners who wish to acquire advanced, up-to-date quantitative capabilities that are applicable in financial research, analysis and operations, including financial risk assessment and management. The structure will allow participants to develop practical, specialized knowledge for advancing their careers in both financial institutions and corporate environments. The program will be highly personalized and aligned with the participants’ interests and career aspirations, including those who wish to transition to academia. The program is devised as an extension of graduate study beyond a master’s degree in business and as a supplement to doctoral degrees in non-business fields. Convenient Scheduling for Working Professionals: Most classes in the three-year, part-time program will meet at SHU’s Stamford Graduate Center at Landmark Square on a trimester schedule basis (five Fridays and Saturdays each trimester). The weekend residency will focus on face-to-face classroom instruction during the first two years of the program.
