Product Description
The RM1 series is a web-based remote monitoring and control system for voltage,
current & temperature with built-in electrical surge protection.
The RM1 is accessed via web or SNMP to remotely monitor up to four voltages, four
currents and two temperatures, and to control power to equipment via four
on-board relays. A graphical interface allows the measured parameters to be
monitored in real-time and the relays to be controlled via a single mouse-click via
desktops, laptops, tablets and smart phones. Data logging and graphing enables
historical data to be displayed.
Two of the relays can be controlled directly via the temperature sensors for
regulating the temperature of equipment such as fans or heaters. The other two
allow timer settings for lights etc. or control via an integrated ping watchdog so
that equipment that fails to respond to pings can be power cycled. The relays also
feature a programmable one-click cycle timer which can be used to turn a device
off and back on again after a predetermined time. This is useful for rebooting a
device such as a PoE switch by power cycling it and thereby rebooting all the
devices attached to it. The relays are normally-closed type.
Two of the current ports provide bi-directional current showing the direction of
currrent flow. This is useful for monitoring batteries to determine when the battery
is charging or discharging. Connections are via removable wire terminal terminal
connectors. This allows for easy troubleshooting and maintenance allowing the unit
to be removed from the system without disturbing the system wiring.
In addition to flexible parameter control and measurement, RM1 units can be
tailored to meet individual needs through label identifiers and user alerts. The
system allows for user defined labels to be set for each parameter to make
identification easier when viewing the web interface or graphs and each monitor
can also have a unique name to identify it on the network making it easy to manage
multiple units on a network. Four independent email alerts can be set based on
periodic time or triggered by a parameter reaching a programmable threshold.
An internal clock based on PC or internet time ensures accuracy of data logging and
each parameter has programmable +/- offsets for field callibration to compensate
for line loss or variations in the measuring equipment.
A discovery tool is available to assist in identifying the remote monitor units on the
network. The tool works across different subnets and is useful if the IP address of
the unit is forgotten or if the unit is configured for DHCP client.
