You are working in an organisation with social, ecological or cultural objectives? You are looking for young people from the South and the North who dedicate themselves to fair and sustainable development? Young people who want to learn from other people and would like to participate in a cross-boarder project in cooperation with a partner organisation in Germany and one in Africa, Asia, Latin America or South-East Europe? The ASA Program South-North The ASA South-North Program is a development education program based in Germany. Every year, the program gives 250 young Europeans and about 20 youths from the South a chance to participate in an education and qualification program dedicated to global education. The aim of the ASA Program is to strengthen the commitment of young people to a fair and sustainable development. The ASA Program is part of ENGAGEMENT GLOBAL gGmbH and is mostly financed by the Ministry of Development and Economic Cooperation (BMZ) in Germany. The ASA Program is a politically independent and non-profit organisation. The South-North Program: cooperation in an international team and North-South dialogue The aim of the South-North Program is to encourage dialogue in a global education perspective. The SouthNorth projects consist of a practical 3-month phase with an organisation in Germany and of a 3-month internship with an organisation in a partner country in Africa, Asia, Latin America or South-East Europe. A team of one or two German participants and of one or two participants from the partner country is formed. The team members participate together in the two phases. They contribute to the project of the partner organisation and carry out studies and analysis, organise trainings and workshops or support the organisation by doing public relations work. The two practical phases have a common theme. The main focus is the mutual learning process and the team work of the South and North participants. The South-North projects aim at: - g iving the participants the opportunity to better understand global interdependencies and the issues of development policy, - g iving them a chance to better understand the challenges of South-North dialogue, - g iving them organisational and technical skills in an international context, - s imultaneously, supporting partner organisations with a qualified cooperation.
