POSITION PURPOSE: Guard back entrance gate, control traffic to and from grounds, monitor premises to guard against theft and vandalism and reports same to officials. Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of unauthorized intrusion. Monitor and secure locks, buildings, gates, vehicles, etc. Check in/out vehicles according to established procedures. Walk GM account vehicles, visually inspecting for necessary repairs and writing initial repair orders to be reviewed by management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. Monitor premises to guard against theft and vandalism. Patrol fence line as time permits noting any signs of tampering and report same to management. Invoice incoming cars and enter same into the computer. Issue gate passes according to established procedures. Walking GM cars visually inspecting for damage and writing accurate repair orders using the repair order program Conducting GM load inspections. Placing stickers and numbering vehicles. Inspect GM repairs. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver license with acceptable driving record. Ability to drive standard, manual and automatic transmission vehicles. Must work closely with other drivers, crew chiefs, and lot crew personnel as part of a multi-member team. Must have good communication and organizational skills along with good penmanship and time management skills. Must be aware of facility at all times and report any issues to management in accordance with established procedures. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
