Responsible of a photovoltaic
testing laboratory
The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), active in
the fields of the constructed and natural environment, economics, innovative technologies, applied arts, health and social care, education and learning, theater and music,
opens a position as Responsible of a photovoltaic testing laboratory at the Institute
for Applied Sustainability to the Built Environment (ISAAC) of the Department of Environment, Construction and Design (DACD), based in Lamone (Lugano). The position
is on a permanent basis and requires a full-time commitment (100%).
Requirements
◆◆ University of Applied Science / Polytechnical or equivalent engineering education in electro-technics, electronics or materials
science.
◆◆ Proven technical and management skills; knowledge of the ISO,
IEC EN standards.
◆◆ Several years of practical work experience in an accredited testing laboratory, specific experience in the photovoltaics field will
be considered a plus.
◆◆ Experience in conducting a team, communication skills and
managing all formal aspects.
◆◆ Fluency in spoken and written Italian and English; knowledge of
German will be an advantage.

Tasks and responsibilities
◆◆ Leading testing activities on photovoltaic modules and cells
in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
◆◆ Conduction of the technical staff and coordination of activities concerning the laboratory’s testing equipment with the
ISAAC researchers.
◆◆ Planning and coordination of test activities and contribution
to further development.
◆◆ Management of the maintenance and calibration of the
equipment.
◆◆ Cooperation with the ISAAC Quality Manager with reference to the ISO 17025 accreditation and updating the quality
management system.
◆◆ Care of customer relations in all technical aspects and representation of the laboratory before national and international
authorities and institutions.
