are available with several calibration options including dual and
triple factory calibrations, which can save maintenance time and
reduce inventories.
Factory Calibration vs. Range Setting
Transmitters calibrated in the factory to a specific range and span
will always provide better accuracy versus simply re-ranging a
device which may have been calibrated to a different range and
span. Factory calibrations employ the highest quality calibration
equipment to ensure the best possible accuracy at the calibrated
range and span. Re-ranging and or field calibrations typically will
yield lower performance due to the quality of test equipment and
conditions associated with a field calibration.
SmartLine Calibration Options
All SmartLine pressure transmitter calibrations are five point
calibrations ensuring conformance to specification over the entire
calibrated range (see figure 2). Honeywell’s ST 800 series
transmitters are also available with several calibration selections
for standard and high accuracy as well as both single range and
dual or triple ranges as shown in figure 1 below.

Factory Standard vs. Custom Calibration
Transmitters with factory standard calibrations are shipped
calibrated to those factory standard ranges shown in figure 3.
Custom calibrated units are calibrated to customer ranges
specified at the time of order placement.

performance.
By stocking one unit instead of three, and simply selecting the
desired factory calibration through a configuration selection,
customers can:



Reduce inventories
Experience maintenance cost savings by not having to
re-calibrate devices prior to installation
Maintain factory calibration accuracy
Honeywell calibrates all SmartLine transmitters. Devices can be
calibrated at the factory default range (see figure 3) or at any

SmartLine Pressure delivers the following value across the entire plant lifecycle:
Reduce project startup time

Transmitter messaging eliminates the need for two
people to perform point-to-point verification

Polarity insensitivity eliminates startup interruptions
and rework due to polarity conflicts
Reduce initial costs and provide flexibility for post-startup
modifications

Modularity lets you pay for only what you need initially,
and allows upgrades later
Lower operating costs, avoid unplanned downtime and
improve product quality

Modularity reduces spare parts inventory and allows
faster replacements

Advanced display aids troubleshooting with up to 24hour trend visibility

Diagnostic summary view provides early problem
detection

Total performance improves product quality through
better control, faster response, and process static
pressure and temperature compensation
Lower total maintenance costs, reduce repair time and
enhance safety

Modularity speeds repairs by avoiding complete device
replacement and associated line breaks

Transmitter messaging and maintenance mode
indication help avoid unit trips and provides additional
communication between operations and field techs

Advanced display clearly provides diagnostic
information, PV views and trending

External configuration buttons provide complete field
device configuration without a handheld
