Manual set up for APS ECU The APS Energy Communication Unit (ECU) is installed by simply plugging it into any wall outlet and providing an Ethernet or WiFi connection to a broadband router or modem. After installing the ECU, the full network of APS Microinverters automatically reports to the APS Energy Monitor and Analysis (EMA) web server. After startup, the APS microinverters will start to send performance data over power line to the ECU. The time required for all the microinverters in the system to report to the ECU will vary with the number of microinverters in the system. You can verify proper operation of the APS microinverters via the ECU. APS Micro inverter: Operation LED ● Flashing Slow Green (10s gap) Producing power and communicating with ECU ● Flashing Fast Green (2s gap) – Producing power and not communicating with ECU ● Flashing Red – Not producing power Steps to set up a ECU (Micro Inverter Monitoring System) 1. Plug the AC power cord into the AC input on the ECU, and then plug the other end into a dedicated wall outlet (NOT power strip, NOT surge protector, NOT UPS). Warning: Do not plug any electrical devices into the same outlet that the ECU is connected to. 2. Connection Connect the cable directly to the laptop or your PC to this ECU. 3. “Open Network and Sharing Center”. 4. Find “Ethernet” and open it, choose “Properties” then in the “Networking” section double click the “Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)”. 5. In “General” section, choose “Use the following IP address:”, put 60.190.131.1 for IP address, and put 255.0.0.0 in “Subnet Mask”. 6. Click “OK” and “OK” and “Close”. 7. Open the internet browser. The ECU’s IP address should be shown on the ECU screen. Type the number in the browser address line, for example “60.190.131.228”, then enter. 8. Open the ECU administration center. Click on “Administration”, then enter the serial numbers into the “Enter Inverter ID” section, after you have completed entering all the serial numbers click “OK” at the bottom of the screen. 9. The ECU will be able to identify the micro inverters now. 10. Don’t forget to disconnect the cable from your laptop or PC and return the settings to the initial settings you use to connect the internet.
