SU Eliminator II Rebuild Instructions Disassembly 1 2 SU Eliminator II Carb ready for rebuild. Remove Dome. 4 3 Piston & Needle. 5 Remove Piston from Dome. Remove (3) Dome screws. 6 7 Remove Needle from Piston. 8 Piston with Needle removed. Body with Piston removed. 10 9 Remove Dome Cap. Remove screw from Bi-Metallic Lever & lift stright up. 16 Remove Float Spindle Screw. 18 19 Lift up and remove Float. Float removed. 21 22 Seat. Remove Seat. 17 Float Spindle Screw removed. 20 Remove Needle. 23 Seat & Gasket. NOTE: Prior to working on any carburetor, it must be completly removed from the bike, drained of all gas and dry. Work in a well ventilated area, away from any open flames or sparks. The Float tab only sits on top of and applys pressure to the top of the needle to keep it in place. 24 Disassemble Ticker Pump Body. 27 Tickler Stem with Viton Cup.. 25 Tickler Pump assy. removed from Tickler Body. 26 Remove large Tickler Spring from Tickler Pump Assy.. 28 Begin Removing Choke Cam Lever by bending lock tabs. 30 31 Lift up and remove Choke Cam Lever. Remove Choke Spring. 33 34 Bend lock tabs back and remove nut from Idle Stop Lever. Remove Idle Stop Lever and Throttle Return Spring. 29 Next remove the Choke Cam Lever nut. 32 Choke Cam Lever Assy.. 35 Idle Stop Lever assy. NOTE: If the lock tabs are worn, you should replace it with new ones. Be careful when removing any spring that is under load, as it may pose eye injury risk. 36 Bend locktabs back on Throttle Spring Retainer. 39 Now remove Spring Retainer with needle nose pliers. 37 With tabs bent back prepare to remove nut. 38 Remove nut from Spring Retainer with 7/16” wrench. 40 With Spring Retainer off, remove Return Spring. 42 43 Lift up and remove Choke Body. Choke Body gasket. 45 46 Push the threaded end of Chody Body Spindle outward. Keep pushing down on spindle. 41 Next remove the (2) Choke Body Screws. 44 Choke Body o-ring. 47 Remove spindle from Choke Body.. NOTE: The Choke Body Gasket (figure 43) has a notch cut in it which must be aligned with the hole in the Choke Body bracket. 48 Choke Body assy. 51 Remove Idle Speed Screw oring. 49 Remove Idle Speed Screw. 52 Note position of the number “5” stamped in the Blade. 54 55 Lift up and remove the Throttle Blade. Throttle Blade removed. 57 58 Throttle Shaft removed. Lastly, remove the Throttle Shaft Spindle Seal. 50 Idle Speed screw removed. 53 Next remove the (2) Throttle Blade Screws. 56 Now remove the Throttle Shaft by pulling from either end. 59 Both Throttle Spindle Shaft seals should be removed. NOTE: If the lock tabs are worn, you should replace it with new ones. Be careful when removing any spring that is under load, as it may pose eye injury risk. 60 61 Remove Main Jet Adjusting Screw. 62 Main Jet Adjusting Screw & oring. Main Jet Adjusting Screw removed. 64 63 Remove circlip on Piston Lift Pin and push up to remove. 65 Push up on Piston Lift Pin to remove. 66 Piston Lift Pin assy. Eliminator II Thread Sizes Thread size 5/16x 18 UNC No. 6 x 32 UNC No. 10 x 32 UNF 3/16 x 24 WHIT M4 x 0.7 9/16 x 18 UNF 7/16 UNF 4 BA No. 6 x 32 UNC No. 10 x 32 UNF Completely stripped SU carburettor body!
