From the outset, stainless steel was a practical solution to a real problem.
The dream was to create a metal sink unit which would not rust. This dream
became reality in Olofström in 1928, when Svenska Stålpressnings AB – as
the company was known in those days – succeeded in making sinks from
stainless steel. Their porcelain and enamelled cast iron rivals soon fell by the
wayside. We have been manufacturing our products in Mörrum since 1962.

All our lay-on sink models. Lay-on sinks are practical, look great and
give your kitchen a hint of a restaurant feel.
If you want a worktop made of a different material, you should still be
able to choose a stainless steel sink unit anyway, of course. Available in
lots of designs and models, all of them presented on these pages.
We've collected together all our sinks for the disabled here. People all
have different disabilities, so our sinks are all different as well. They've
all been painstakingly designed with function in mind.

Water traps are an art in themselves. There are a number of things to
bear in mind when you decide to install a water trap: our products have

The kitchen. The heart of the home.
Have you ever wondered why most parties end up in
kitchens? The kitchen is an important place for us at
a basal level, and this has nothing to do with cooking.
This is where the family gathers, this is where the big
questions are asked, this is where the major decisions
are made.
It truly is a privilege to manufacture products for this
vital room. Our Swedish-made sinks are always made
of stainless steel as this material is incredibly durable
– in terms of both style and quality. The fact that it
also makes them easy to keep clean is something of a
plus, too.
People are all different, and so we have kitchen sinks
in lots of different sizes and models. This is great if you
want to combine your kitchen sink with a worktop, for
instance. We've also remembered that our sinks have
to be particularly spacious, that the water trap has to
take up as little space as possible under the kitchen
sink, and that we provide accessories that can help
you in your kitchen.

Recessed mounting. The most common method. The kitchen sink is
recessed in a hole in the worktop, then it is secured in place underneath using brackets. The outer edge of the kitchen sink rests on top
of the worktop. A mounting template is supplied with all our recessed
sinks so that you can make a hole which is sized accurately.
Recessed mounting. A hole is cut out from below in laminate, wooden
or stone worktops. The kitchen sink is then bonded in place from
below. This is done by the worktop manufacturer.
Plane mounting. A hole is made in the worktop first, then one edge
is cut out and the kitchen sink is inserted, either in a milled groove or
towards an angled edge. We recommend stone worktops if you're going to flush-mount your kitchen sink. The kitchen sink is then inserted
from above, secured with sealant and secured in place underneath
using brackets.
From dreams of kitchens to your dream kitchen.
If you're going to create something, you have to take
the time to do it right. You're sure to have loads of
ideas and solutions on how things ought to look
and work. But more haste, less speed! The best
ideas sometimes come about once you've seen the
successes – and failures – of others. We've got lots of
ideas when it comes to sinks and wash basins.
Our tips can move you
closer to your dream.
Save your feet! The kitchen sink, cooker
and fridge are the most important
things in your kitchen. You should walk
a route in the shape of a triangle when
you move from one to the other. This will
save you moving around unnecessarily
and turning to the wrong place.
Elbow room at your sink. The kitchen
sink is the most widely used area in any
kitchen. Make sure that you have plenty
of space around your sink, ideally at
least 60 cm on either side so that you
can keep meat, vegetables and washing
up separate.
Light to work by, light to relax by. Use
lots of light sources in your kitchen. For
instance, you need good light to work by
above your kitchen sink. But this kind
of light is often sharp, so by all means
ordinary bulbs to tone it down a bit.
Close to a power supply. Having cables
all over the place above your kitchen
sink is impractical and can be dangerous. Have a think about where you need
sockets to be positioned.
Worktops set the tone for your kitchen.
The worktops in your kitchen have to
withstand heat, knocks and hours and
hours of work. They also have to look
great and match other materials in the
kitchen. Here are a few examples of
materials:
Writing a list of positives and negatives about your
present kitchen might be a good place to start. What
do you not have that you'd like? How many of you will
be working and spending time in the kitchen? Do you
need two water outlets? What worktop material do you
like? What are your views on using the entire kitchen,
including the corners?
Laminate. A hardwearing material
available in lots of different colours
and patterns. But that said, laminate is
unable to withstand hot pans, nor can it
be sanded down if you have an accident
with it.
Terrazzo. Cement mixed with crushed
marble, quite simply. Very durable, and
able to withstand both heat and water.
These worktops are maintained using
soapy water, and they can be polished if
they crack or become stained.
Stone. A classic on the rise. Take care
with delicate stone worktops made of
slate and marble, for example. Marble
is porous and can be affected by water,
slate scratches easily and you'll need to
oil it frequently. Our recommendation?
Granite.
Clean your stainless steel sink.
We manufacture all our stainless steel
sinks. A smooth or a linen-patterned surface can be selected for some models.
Our sinks are easy to clean. You simply
have to wipe them down using a sponge
or a dishcloth with a little washing up
liquid on. Then wipe clean with a clean
cloth. Don't allow water or any other
liquid to dry naturally as this may lead to
discoloration of the surface or limescale
deposits. Stains or discoloration in sinks
can be removed using a sponge made of
fibre or plastic which is dipped in a little
washing up liquid.
Never use acids or any other corrosive substance. Acetic acid can stain
the kitchen sink unless you wipe it off
straight away. Stubborn stains can be
removed by scrubbing with a fine scouring powder. Rinse the surface and wipe
with a clean cloth. Stubborn limescale
deposits can be removed with a 10-50%
acetic acid solution. Rinse off the acid
immediately.
Water traps. All our sinks are supplied
with type-approved water traps.
Concrete. The surface of polished concrete feels soft, but it can withstand just
about anything. Concrete makes your
kitchen look wonderfully functional.
Tiles. Available in lots of different colours and patterns. However, tiles make
impractical worktops as the joints soon
become stained and dirty.
Steel. A worktop covered with stainless steel, or a full kitchen sink. This will
give you an incredibly practical worktop
which is also fantastic in terms of both
style and quality. Easy to keep clean
because the sink and worktop are positioned together.
Wood. Available in lots of different varieties and to suit all pockets. Pale wood
varieties such as ash and maple bring
a Nordic feel to any kitchen. Hard, dark
wood varieties such as teak and walnut
are also popular. That said, wood is unable to withstand heat, and it needs to
be oiled. Lacquered wood can be damaged easily.

As our kitchens become home to chefs knives, professional
ovens and other gadgets, they also have to look more like restaurant kitchens. We have to have large, practical worktops to
work on which are ideally large enough for several people to all
work together. After all, cooking has also turned into a way of
spending time with family and friends.
Restaurant kitchens use a lot of stainless steel, mainly for
reasons of practicality. It is easy to maintain, hardwearing and
simple to keep clean. Domestic kitchens get all that, as well as
the feel of a real restaurant kitchen.
Ifö Concert, made of smooth, full, stainless steel is ideal for the
modern kitchen. It is also the Kitchen sink offering the widest
sink on the market, and the rinsing bowl is located closest to
the worktop. Conveniently, the edges are turned down all round
the unit, and also turned in at the front and rear edges. You
can reverse it, and there is a wide range of specially designed

Ifö Concert models are designed with just one simple aim in
mind: to make your everyday kitchen jobs as easy as possible.
This kitchen sink is made of smooth, elegant stainless steel,
and its surface simply becomes more and more beautiful as the
years go by. Its corners are rounded and its lines are soft, making it easy to clean. The twin sinks are large and deep, allowing
you to soak pots and frying pans in them.
This is not just a kitchen sink, really – it is 16 kitchen sinks all

We've collected together all our sinks for the disabled here.
People all have different disabilities, so our sinks are all
different as well. They've all been painstakingly designed with
function in mind.
All our kitchen sinks are made of smooth, classic steel and
come with strainer valves. The sinks are shallow, and the water
trap passes directly back towards the wall, allowing people
in wheelchairs to get up close to the sink. That's a pretty good
idea, wouldn't you say?

The Ifö Public Steel product range. Because
public environments make special demands.
It’s hard to really understand damage. But if you're
buying fittings for public bathrooms and toilets, you
have to realise how important it is to eliminate opportunities for the visitors who just want to wreck things.
The best way is maybe to replace all porcelain with
stainless steel. Steel toilets, wash basins and mirrors
are also available. It's also important to secure toilet
bowls, partitions, wash basins and urinals so that
they can stand up to abuse. And don't forget to build
cisterns, drains and flush buttons into the wall.
Aesthetics are another way of reducing damage.
Simple, clean product design in public bathrooms and
toilets can disarm the vandals, or at least reduce their
desire to destroy.
Ifö Public Steel is a result of many years of experience
of functional, attractive products made of stainless
steel for bathrooms and toilets.
This range was particularly tricky to design. The units
have to be attractive, they have to reduce damage, and
they have to be anything but dull. The result? Sweeping
lines and smooth, clean surfaces. Moreover, all products in the range are easy to clean – this is important
as regards hygiene. We've consistently used necessary
design elements as decorative elements.
All visible parts are made of stainless steel. These
products are easy to install and can be secured very
firmly using screws. They come in standard dimensions, which makes them easy to fit.
Ifö Public Steel fittings are suitable for hotels,
restaurants, sports facilities, wall-mounted toilets and
hospitals. For all bathrooms and toilets where damage
may occur and excellent hygiene is required.
The Ifö Public Steel product range, together with the Ifö
Sign installation system, is suitable for refurbishment
of existing facilities and installation of new ones.

Ifö Public Steel wash basin.
We didn't forget the aesthetic
aspects, either.
In the old days, stainless steel for public bathrooms
and toilets were functional for the most part. Fittings
have to be able to withstand all kinds of things, including violence. The Ifö Public Steel range has also taken
aesthetic considerations into account – both for the
sake of the restaurant or swimming pool where they're
fitted, and to minimise damage.
The Ifö Public Steel wash basin has borrowed its
design from our porcelain units. This wash basin is
moulded in two parts and designed so that all standard-sized mixer taps can be used with it.
Columns made of stainless steel provide even more
protection against damage while underpinning the
design at the same time. This wash basin also matches the Ifö Sign wash basin module. This gives you two
options for building in the pipes.
Ifö Public Steel mirror
Mirrors might be needed even in extremely vulnerable
public toilets. This stainless steel mirror is ideal for
such applications because it's made from extremely
resilient, shiny, electropolished metal. So it works just
as well as a real mirror.
This mirror is available in two sizes. We made it match
standard tile sizes to make it easier to install. It can
be mounted on tiles or flush-mounted. The back of the
mirror is made of treated MDF so that the metal stays
smooth.
Environmental considerations
Each and every Ifö product is made with the environment in mind – at all stages of production. We use
recyclable materials for more or less all components.
We always place return labels on packaging and make
it as eco-friendly as possible.

Ifö Public Steel WC for built-in cistern.
The Ifö Sign WC with a built-in cistern is available in two
sizes. This belongs to Ifö Sign WC modules and is also
available with a 6/3-litre flush or max. 5 litres. All pipe
systems are built into the installation wall and can only
be accessed by people who are authorised to do so.
The stainless steel WC is wall-mounted, keeping the floor
clear and making it easy to clean. The WC is moulded and
has no sharp edges, and we've applied a Teflon coating to
the bowl which makes it easier to clean.
We can supply WCs without seats or bolt holes for seats
for really tough environments. We also offer an elegant,
anthracite grey Pressalit seat and a dark grey Ifö hard
seat, and both are secured very firmly to the bolt holes for
the seat on the WC.

Built-in cistern.
The cistern is built into the installation wall – clever, isn't
it? You can choose from single and twin flush buttons in
public environments. It's also available with a front cover
with a built-in flush button or flush buttons. Both flush
functions are simply screwed onto the installation wall.
You can also replace the flush buttons with Ifö Sensor
for no-contact flushing.
Ifö Public Steel WC module.
If it's not possible to install an installation wall with
a built-in cistern, we have another solution for you: a
surface-mounted WC module. It's easy to mount on the
floor or on a wall – or both. It's also easy to fit for both
wall and floor drains. The adjustable seat height is a
refinement which makes it possible to select a height
between 400 and 460 mm plus the height of the seat. So
in other words, the space can be adapted for disabled
use as well.
We've positioned the flush buttons so that they're easy
to access, and you can choose either a full 5-litre flush
or a combined full and half flush, 6/3 litres.

Ifö Public Steel urinal. A Teflon coating does the job.
Like our stainless steel WC, this urinal comes with
a protective Teflon coating which is very resistant to
chemicals and high-pressure cleaning. The Teflon reduces deposits in the toilet, meaning that a soft brush
will suffice for cleaning.
You can choose from a built-in sensor in the urinal or a
flush buttons on the wall. You can also mount the urinal
on an installation wall with built-in pipes, or build the
drainage pipe into a column which prevents damage.
The installation wall and built-in sensor on the urinal
are easy to install, and the combination of the two also
makes the room easy to clean and helps to prevent
damage. The installation wall makes replacing an
unhygienic channel a quick and easy task, but you can
also convert it or build a completely new toilet.
Ifö Public Steel partition.
Public toilets are a place where, remarkably, people
accept non-existent integrity. But the fact is, more
men than you might think are disturbed or might
even feel they can't go about their business when
others are present. The Ifö Public Steel stainless
steel partition circumvents this problem. It makes
the entire environment dignified and attractive,
creating the sense of separation that many men
require.
This partition is very easy to fit, and cleaning is
facilitated because it doesn't go all the way down to
the floor.
Columns minimise damage right the way down to the drain in the floor.
Half columns are ideal if the pipe goes into the wall underneath the
urinal. The Ifö Sign installation wall means no columns are required.
