ROLLING MILL STAND HOUSINGS.

Field of application:
Hot and cold rolling mill stands.
Designation:
Bearing of loads appeared at rolling. They are
basic parts. All blocks of rolling mill stands lie
on and contact with them.
Design distinguishing features:
The following types of housings are produced:
- close (each housing has a close contour);
- open (each housing has an open contour);
- assembled housings of closed type from 4
parts, fixed by pins (for big-size and heavy
housings - to provide transport conditions).
Steels 25Л, ЗОЛ GOST 977-88, GE240, GS45 are used. It's possible to make any grade of
steel with a required chemical composition
and mechanical properties at the Customer's
request. Max.weight of 1 casted housing is
2671, assembled - 5001.

UNIVERSAL SPINDLES
Field of application:
Main drive lines of hot and cold rolling mills.
Designation:
Torque transmission from electric motor to rolling mill stand work rolls.
Design distinguishing features:
Hinges and spindles are equipped with bronze plain bearing liners (plain
plates) enabling spindle operation angles of 8°. Load-bearing parts of
spindles are made of high-grade alloyed structural steel by forging with
further heat-treatment and machining.
Spindle head outer diameter: between 300 and 1600 mm.
Spindle weight: up to 60 t.
Transmitted torque: 13 00 TM.
Provided rolling speed: up to 6 m/sec.

Construction simplicity, maintainability, optimal price.

CARDAN SPINDLES
Field of application:
Main drive lines of cold and hot rolling mills, billet and tube mills, work
stands, paper-making equipment, various test benches, special drives etc.
Designation:
Torque transmission from electric motor or speed reducer to roll mill stands
work rolls and other operating mechanisms.
Design distinguishing features:
Spindle hinges are equipped with bearings on rolling elements. They
enable spindle to operate with angles of inclination of up to 30°.
Outer spindle hinge diameter - up to 1200 mm.
Spindle weight – up to 30 t.
Transmitted torque: up to 6 00TM.
Provided rotation speed – up to 1000 rpm.
Advantages:
Closed-type hinge, high performance (minimum friction losses), high angle
of obliquity in spindle hinge, easy maintenance.
Cardan spindle of rolling-mill.
Æ880/Æ1080 spindle with hinges on the rolling elements
for horizontal stand of the mill.
Roller quenching machine cardan spindle.

SPINDLES
GEAR-TYPE SPINDLES
Field of application:
Main drive lines of rolling mills and other devices.
Designation:
Torque transmission from pinion stand speed reducer to operating
mechanisms.
Design distinguishing features:
Provide torque transmission when shafts are not coaxial to executing
mechanism. Possibility to work with angles of obliquity in the hinge of up to
3°. The hinge consists of toothed assembly and teeth bushing with involute
barrel tooth. Strength parts of the spindle are made of alloyed highstrength structural steel by forging with further heat treatment (nitride
hardening, cementation, induction hardening) and machining.
Working surfaces hardness 45...60 HRC.
Hardening depth:
- By nitride hardening 0.4...0.8 mm;
- By induction hardening 2...3 mm;
- By cementation > 2 mm.
Spindle hinge outer diameter-between 270 and 800 mm.
Spindle weight - up to 12 t.
Transmitted torque - up to 3500 kNm.
Provided rotation speed - up to 1500 rpm.
Advantages:
Closed-type hinge, high rotation speed, easy servicing, maintainability.

Couplings are manufactured of high-grade alloyed steel by forging with
further heat treatment and machining.
Proven technology of heat treatment combined with optimal composition of
alloying elements provides high level of strength and plastic properties of
the material.

Designation:

from electric motors.
Design distinguishing features:
Shafts are installed on the intermediate supports, equipped with plain
and rolling bearings.
Intermediate shafts are manufactured of high-grade alloyed steel by
forging with further heat treatment and machining.
Weight of intermediate shaft with couplings and supports: up to 100 t.

Designation:
Change of clearance between the rolls.
Features:
They are made of cast bronze (grades: БрА9Ж3Л, БрА10Ж3Мц2,
G-CuSn12Ni) both in solid-cast and shrouded version.
The overall dimensions :
L = up to 1300 mm, outer Dia. = up to 1400 mm,
Thread of Dia. = up to 1000 mm,

GUARDS WITH TILTER. COOLING-BED RACKS
GUARDS WITH TILTER
Field of application:
Guards with turnover device are installed upstream and downstream of the
stand of the break-down and plate mills.
Designation:
Guards with turnover device (or without turnover device) are intended to
align a breakdown bar with the axis of rolling and to turn it around 90o with
the use of the levers positioned on one of the guards.
Features:
Guards are manufactured of cast steel and provided with internal cavities
for their cooling.
At the Customer's request the provision is made for using any grade of
steel with the specified chemical composition and mechanical properties.

Any required configuration.
COOLING-BED RACKS
COOLING-BED RACKS
Field of application:
Racks are placed on the movable and fixed beams of the section mill
cooling-bed.
Designation:
Racks are used for conveying rolled products at cooling including the
provision for being turned over.
Features:
Racks are manufactured of structural carbon steels (steel Ст3, 09Г2С,
17Г1С, 10ХСНД and others).
At the Customer's request the provision is made for using any grade of
steel with the specified chemical composition and mechanical properties.

Engineering capabilities of NKMZ make it possible to manufacture
both the roll tables themselves and spares to them in the form of
some elements and units of rollers complete with bearing supports of
various design and assembly.

Heavy-duty main mill tables, charging, receiving and trailer roll tables for
breakdown, plate, wide-strip, billet and rail-and-structural steel mills.

Roller body and necks heat treatment, special heat- and wear-resistant
coatings; if required and at the customer's request the bearing supports
and roller body may be cooled.

MANUFACTURING BASE
FOR ROLLING EQUIPMENT PARTS
STRUCTURAL STEEL PRODUCTION.
FOUNDRY
High quality of blanks is provided by the advanced metallurgical facilities
available with NKMZ.
Processing complex of NKMZ steelmaking production includes electric
arc furnaces EAF with the capacity from 5 to 50 tonnes, after-furnace ladle
steel treatment units “Ladle-furnace”, vacuum degassing area using a
steam jet pump and vacuum chambers including vacuum chamber for VD
and VOD processes.
Steelmaking production facilities enable about 1000 grades of steel to
be produced the quality level of which meets the highest international
standards.
Engineering capabilities of production permit producing forging ingots
weighing from 1,6 t to 170 t and up to 200 t liquid metal for making steel
castings.
Engineering capabilities of foundry enable us to produce castings of:
<carbon, alloy, high-alloy grades of steel;
< gray, high-strength, bearing and special cast iron;
< bronze alloys.
State-of-the-art sand mixing equipment made by FAT and GUT
(Germany), application of advanced materials when making casting
molds as per «FURAN-process» make it possible:
<to produce steel castings of complicated configuration using
engineering analysis computer systems (САЕ) MAGMASoft (Germany)
and LVMFlow (Russia) for developing technical processes;
< to produce castings of the following weight (in tonnes):

PRESS-FORGING AND THERMAL PROCESS
Press-forging facilities provide for producing forgings weighing between
0,2 and 110 t from forging ingots ranging from 3,5 to 170 t. The process of
open die forging is realized in automated forging complexes that are
technologically interconnected with heating, heat-treatment and handling
machinery and under monitoring of process control systems.
Engineering capabilities of heat treatment allow heat treatment of many
types to be performed and the required physical and mechanical
properties to be obtained.
Automated process control systems perform full maintenance and
stabilization of furnace conditions, according to the preset heating, cooling
and power saving conditions programs with the provision of temperature
gradient up to ±5°C.
