Product Description
VSS’ passive fiber TAPs feature high quality custom-built splitters that provide 100%
uptime. Network operators are able to deploy a failsafe network access device
without the concern of introducing a point of network failure. When used in
conjunction with a network packet broker or monitoring device, future upgrades are
possible without network downtime. Additionally, high-density fiber TAPs use very
little real estate in often over-crowded network data centers. As gateways to VSS’
network packet brokers, fiber TAPs are a perfect fail-safe foundation for network
packet brokering and vMesh system building.

Product Brief: v1x1 Fiber TAP
The v1x1 All-Optical TAP provides individual monitoring of
Ethernet-based networks without power usage. The v1x1
All-Optical TAP is certified to interoperate with 100 Mbps networks,
Gigabit networks, and 10 GigE networks for Singlemode and
Multimode environments. Singlemode is also verified to operate
with 40 GigE and 100 GigE networks. Network operators can rest
assured that VSS Monitoring’s Fiber TAP will provide the visibility
they need as network speeds increase.
