Management and Leadership Apprenticeships
Fully supported pathways from ILM
Steps for centres
Step 1 – understanding frameworks and funding
Before you embark on running apprenticeships it’s important to understand the frameworks they relate to. The Specification of Apprenticeships
Standards for England (SASE) and SASW for
Wales set out the minimum requirements for delivery and are available to download.
▶ www.apprenticeships.org.uk (SASE)
▶ www.wales.gov.uk (SASW)
The Skills Funding Agency provides information on funding.
Step 2 – centre approval
To offer our apprenticeships you will need to be an approved ILM Centre. Contact us to set up an introductory meeting with your local ILM
Business Development Manager who will guide you through this step.
Step 3 – employer engagement
Apprenticeships provide structured training within a workplace and so employers are key to their success. The National Apprenticeship
Service (NAS) can help with recruiting apprentices and once in place, employers will need to establish an Apprenticeship Agreement between them and the apprentice which sets out their working conditions, pay, and importantly, releases the apprentice from work for learning with their trainer.
Step 4 – registration
Register your learners on to the relevant apprenticeship package through ILM’s
Walled Garden portal.
Step 5 – delivery
There is no specific order for completion of the apprenticeship, you can arrange the programme to suit you and your learners.
Step 6 – certification
Claim the appropriate component certificates for your successful learners through the
Walled Garden portal.
Then follow the steps below depending on your nation and framework to claim learner
Apprenticeship Certificates.
▶
England – register free of charge on the
Apprenticeship Certificates England (ACE) system operated by the Alliance of SSCs to administer certificates: http://ace.apprenticeships.org.uk
▶
Wales – use the Apprenticeship Certificate
Request Form available from CfA: www.cfa.uk.com
▶
Northern Ireland – register and claim for Apprenticeship certification through Apprenticeships NI: www.nidirect.gov.uk/apprenticeshipsni
