NAME
UNIT 8 STUDY GUIDE
Dear parents,
These are samples of math problems that are being covered in unit 8. We are working
on using a variety of ways to solve addition and subtraction problems. Your student
should practice solving them using a variety of strategies too. They can complete a few
problems nightly; please do not have them complete all 6 pages in 1 sitting. Showing their
thinking is very important to their understanding. Please make sure your students are
not only coming up with the correct answer, but using a strategy they can understand
and explain clearly.
These do not need to be returned to school !
Thank you for your support.
