TheGLOBE(GlobalLeadershipandOrganizationalBehaviorEffectiveness)ProjectispleasedtoannouncetheRobertJ.
HouseBestPaperAward,sponsoredbyUniversityofVictoria’sPeterB.GustavsonSchoolofBusiness.TheGLOBEaward
willhonoranoutstandingrecentdissertation-basedarticle/paper,oranyotherpublishedpaperonleadership,societalor
organizationalcultureusingtheGLOBEdatabase,GLOBEresearchtools,GLOBEleadershiporGLOBEculturetheory.
Manuscripttopicsmayincludeleadership,organizationalbehavior,organizationtheory,strategicmanagement,corporate
socialresponsibility,ethics,oranyotherorganizationalrelevanttopic.TherecipientoftheawardwillreceiveaUS$2,500
cashprizeandwillbenormallyhonoredattheGLOBEmeetingattheappropriateAcademyofManagementAnnual
MeetingortheAcademyofInternationalBusinessAnnualMeeting.
Criteriaforsubmission:
• Adissertation-basedpaper(eithersingleormultipleauthored—withthedoctoralstudentasthefirstauthor)mustbe
basedonadoctoraldissertationcompletedwithinthepast3years.
• Anon-dissertationpaper(publishedorunpublished)couldalsobeeithersingleoramultipleauthoredpaper.Itshould
bebasedonGLOBEdata,usingGLOBE’sinstrumentsand/ortheoreticalframeworks.If,published,itshouldhave
appearedinapeerreviewedjournalwithinthepast3years.
• Thepapermakesasignificantcontributiontotheresearchknowledgeinthefieldofgloballeadershipand/orcrossculturalresearch.
• Itshouldincorporaterelevanttheoreticalandempiricalliterature.
• Themethodologyanddataanalysisshouldadequatelytestengagingresearchquestions.
• Thediscussionshouldhighlightthetheoretical,empiricalandpracticalcontributionsandsuggestfutureresearch
directionsforgloballeadershipandcross-culturalresearch.
• Thepapershouldlogically,succinctly,andclearlypresentideas.
Submissiondeadline:September30,2016.
Thefollowingguidelineswillbeusedtoensureconsistentsubmissionsbycandidates
• Ifapublishedpaper:

PleasesubmitaPortableDocumentFormat(PDF)version.Tofacilitatetheblindreviewprocessofapublished
paper,thenameofthecandidate(s),institutionalaffiliation,currentmailingaddress,andphonenumberwillbe
erased;
• Ifanunpublishedpaper:
o
Thedocumentssubmitted(titlepage,abstract,maintext,figures,tables,references,etc.)mustbeinPDFform.
o

Themaximumlengthis40pagesinclusiveoftitlepage,abstract,andtext.Tables,figures,appendices,and
referencesareexcludedfromthiscount.
SubmissionsshouldbepreparedinaccordancewiththeguidelinesprovidedinthesixtheditionofthePublication
ManualoftheAmericanPsychologicalAssociation.
Tofacilitatetheblindreviewprocess,thenameofthecandidate(s),institutionalaffiliation,currentmailing
address,andphonenumbershouldonlyappearonthetitlepage.
Ifthesubmissionisbasedonadissertation,thecandidatemustprovideofficialevidenceofthedateof
dissertation/doctoralstudiescompletion.

• Thecandidate(s)shouldsubmitallmaterialstotheemailaddressoftheCommitteeChair(n.ashkanasy@uq.edu.au)
• Inthecaseofadissertation-basedpaper,donotsubmittheactualdissertation.
• Thechequewillbemadeuptotheauthorofthewinningpaper(orfirstauthorofamulti-authoredpaper).
ThewinningpaperwillbenotifiedbyDecember15,2016.
Intheabsenceofapaperdeemeddeservingoftheaward,theawardmaybewithheld.
