• The StarTec emergency exit latch is designed to comply with
requirements of EN 179 for emergency exit applications:
Fire rated for timber and steel doors
Suitable for single doors and the active leaf (1st opening) of a rebated double door set
• 180 x 55 x 100 mm (height x width x depth)
• Suitable for doors up to 1300 mm wide
• Unit is supplied as handed but can be changed to the opposite
hand if required on site
• Tested and approved to BS EN 179: 2008, Emergency Exit Doors
and is CE marked
• Fully fire tested to EN 1634-1 for use on timber and steel doors
• Low projection, category 1 - the hardware stands off the door no
more than 100 mm - allowing the hardware to be used on any fire or
escape door that will not open beyond 90˚
• Can be used with 911.52.079 or 911.52.078 outside access
devices and 912.06.278 digital lock, 916.90.710 and 911.52.066
screw in cylinder and adaptors as shown on page 27

Where a final exit door is to be used only by trained personnel and
where they are familiar with and have been shown a route to exit as
an emergency exit door and must be certified to European Standard
EN 179. The standard is intended for such areas as places of work
which are not accessible to members of the public. Emergency Exit
devices can be operated by push pads and lever handles.
