development.
OSRAM has developed a new
line of auxiliary automotive
lighting connection products
using an LCP upper body
component, silicone flange seal
and stainless steel bulb retention
clips. This high-tech product line
uses a unique combination of
materials that provide a higher
level of temperature operation
with reduced levels of the
detrimental effects of outgassing.

The HTS8 Socket products are
available in 4 unique panel lug
patterns and 6 filament focal
lengths that include 20.85,
22.35, 25.4, 29.45, 31.5 and 34.9
mm.
USCAR
The HTS8 Sockets offer a true
4.5 mm pitch USCAR side
latch connector profile in all 4
keying combinations.

Product Features and
Benefits
Osram’s new product line
uses a Liquid Crystal Polymer
(LCP) upper body for
improved resistance to
thermal loads. The flange
seal has been upgraded to a
special formulation of silicone
also designed to withstand
higher thermal conditions. All
OSI S8 Lamp Sockets utilize
four stainless steel bulb
retention beams to assure a
consistent retention force and
no contribution to out-gassing
over a wide temperature
range.
The Smart Choice
OSRAM’s new High
Temperature Base Series S8
Wedge Lamp offers all the
benefits of the original lamps,
but is specifically engineered to
be more durable at the
elevated ambient operating
temperatures. Designers can
now use these bulbs in
combination with the High
Temperature Lamp Socket to
address any application where
standard nylon and PPA
components would not be
feasible due to heat limitations
or ultra long-life requirements
such as in DRL. These bulbs
and sockets provide a sage,
cost-effective alternative to
metalized sockets, coated
bulbs or amber colored cover
lenses and caps.
The DRL Solution
The availability of a variety of
socket and bulb combinations,
combined with a higher thermal
tolerance, makes this bulb and
socket series the ideal solution
for Front Turn and DRL
applications.
