Faculty Profile – Dr Siriwan Chutikamoltham Dr. Siri’s expertise is in the areas of international finance, corporate finance, treasury management and international economics with over 30 years of experiences as a high-level executive, a business consultant and an academic. Dr. Siri joined the Banking and Finance Department at the Nanyang Business School, NTU in 2009. Subsequently, she served as the Director of Banking and Finance from 2010 to 2014, and Academic Director of the NF MBA program since 2015. She teaches international finance, corporate finance, entrepreneurial finance, treasury management, and economics in the EMBA, MBA and the undergraduate programs. Besides teaching in degree programs, Dr. Siri also provides executive training on various topics related to banking, business trends in Asia, ASEAN, global financial crises and risk management. Dr. Siri’s research interests are on international financial and economic issues related to Asia, ASEAN and the Euro Area. She has been frequently invited to give talks on the above issues, both in Singapore and internationally. Her works have been published in various management journals such as the Europe’s World Journal, VDI Nachricten (Germany), The Economia (Greece), The Edge Investment Journal, Journal of Islamic Banking, Straits Times and Business Times. In addition, she writes case studies in finance and economics which have been published by the Asian Case Studies Centre and distributed by Harvard Case Publishing Service. Prior to pursuing the academic career full time since 1996, Dr. Siri spent 13 years in the corporate sector. She held various high-level executive positions in international financial services, starting with an Economist position at the World Bank in Washington D. C. where she and her team made loans to Egypt, Brazil, and Poland. Then she joined Bangkok Bank as Vice President for Treasury and Credit Policy. Later, she became the CEO of a real estate company where she successfully led its restructuring and eventual listing in the Stock Exchange of Thailand. After careers in big corporations, Dr. Siri tried her hands on entrepreneurship to establish and lead a consulting firm that specialized on building and providing training in business intelligence. After successful careers as a business executive, Dr. Siri entered teaching full-time, while continues to provide business consulting part-time. Before joining NBS, she was a finance faculty at University of Minnesota, USA. After 20 years of full-time academic career, Dr. Siri remains very passionate about teaching and has consistently received excellent teaching evaluation. Thus far at NTU, Dr. Siri has received 4 teaching awards: The Nanyang Business School Teaching Excellence 2010, Teacher of the Year Award 2011 (EMBA), Teacher of the Year Award 2012 (MBA), and Teacher of the Year Award 2015 (Nanyang Fellow MBA). Dr. Siri holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School, a Masters in Applied Economics from University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Economics (First Class Honor, Gold Medal) from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
