SANLAN GOLF - .Due to the scope of conditions that needed to be addressed, a decision
was made to concentrate on getting Courses B
& C in good playable condition. Course A in all
probability will not open for the 2016-2017 Season. This will cause some league scheduling
problems. Please bear with us on resolving
schedule conflicts. New sod has been laid on
greens in B and C and currently you can play
out on temporary greens set up for daily use.
Some tree removal has been done for the pickle ball
court. The landscape department is providing some
of the branches for the local raptors to use if they
want them for nest building. Waste not these valuable resources.
PLEASE PLACE NO TRASH
No site trash nor animal waste is allowed in
Bathhouse garbage cans. Please place in dumpster or animal waste bins around the park.
Be aware on and off Electrical Outages will affect the Mobile Home Park and South Side Village due to replacement of transformers.

Eagle nesting season has started again though
most eagle pairs are just returning. This picture
was from a few years back when our local pair
had two very big babies to feed. Right now most
eagles are reworking their old nests or starting
from scratch on a new nest.
The new Race Trac Gas Station is open 24hrs
per day. Visited today really nice inside with a
coffee bar, fresh baked goods, and other prepared foods –located on US 98 just south of
Sanlan’s entrance across from Polk State College. Check it out for gas, convenience and
last minute sundry needs.
SANLAN BIRD AND WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
–Will be working on the Garden soon to rid it of
all of the invasive grasses that have sprung up
over the summer. The firebush is huge, the
plumbago’s are in bloom, and the passion vines
are blooming and being eaten by the caterpillars. Hope to have it all revitalized with some
assistance in the next month or so.
