TEAM PURPOSE:
To carry out general facilities duties covering all service areas, including General Building and Grounds
Maintenance, Caretaking, Car Parking, Security, Room Management, Post and Portage. In addition, to
implement Health and Safety risk assessments and ensure safe working practices.
To support and contribute to the delivery of a first rate service, supporting the efficient running of the College
Campus buildings and grounds creating an environment conducive with Learning.
JOB PURPOSE:
The post-holder will work alongside current site management and maintenance officers in maintaining the
college in a good state of repair in line with current legislation and following all Health and fire Safety
Guidelines.
The post holder will be required to work at the Oxford or Blackbird Leys site and assist in the provision of an
efficient and effective business support area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Provide support to the SMMO’s in maintaining the college by carrying out preventative and planned
maintenance programmes and undertake routine inspections of the buildings, fixtures, fittings,
premises and grounds to assess for minor works or repairs required. This includes:





Repairing furniture and fittings as required
Touch up and make good paintwork as required
Minor plumbing maintenance and repair work
Re-plaster damaged walls
Ceramic tiling.
2. To assist in ensuring the external environment of the college is kept free of litter, weeds, leaves etc,
and assist in ensuring the adequate security of buildings at all times.
3. Responsible for working with tools, ladders, maintenance equipment and materials as directed
ensuring that all relevant Health & Safety regulations are complied with.
Status of the Job Description
