JOB DESCRIPTION 1. JOB TITLE: 2. DEPARTMENT: Apprenticeship Facilities Management (Maintenance) 3. JOB PURPOSE: To work as part of a team to assist the multi-skilled maintenance team responsible for the maintenance of fabric, fixtures and services to all University properties and locations. 4. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Founded in 1839, originally as a teacher training college, the University currently employ around 1500 academic, research and support staff. It has two campuses - Chester and Warrington and has over 10,500 students. The Maintenance Department forms part of the wider Facilities Directorate. The team are responsible for carrying our planned and reactive maintenance to a wide variety of buildings and premises which the University own or lease. 5. WORK PERFORMED AND/OR KEY RESULT AREAS: Assist with routine tasks connected to the upkeep and maintenance of buildings and premises controlled by the University. To assist the maintenance team in carrying out reactive and planned maintenance. Perform general housekeeping duties to keep tools tidy and safe. Any other general labouring duties as deemed appropriate by the team leader. The role holder will be issued with, and required to wear, a uniform along with the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). The role holder will be expected to carry out any other relevant duties as determined by the line manager as may reasonably be required.
