Applications Engineer Program
Apply Now
This is your chance to innovate a better world. In our challenging and highly-competitive
Applications Engineering program, you’ll get to use your technical and creative engineering
skills while gaining valuable experience working with real customers and real products on
real business problems.
About the job
Applications Engineers at Texas Instruments (TI) are a highly-motivated, collaborative
group with a strong commitment to the customer. In this role, you will promote TI products
and provide technical solutions to customers that will ultimately go into consumer products
like Smartphones, PC peripherals, personal medical devices, electric cars, e-bikes and much
more. You’ll also provide technical support and engage with customers to help define new
products and opportunities for future product development.
About the program
As a program participant, you will work on breakthrough technologies through two sixmonth job rotations in Customer Field Engineering (Field) and Product Applications
Engineering (Factory) over a 12-month time period.
Program participants begin with a two-week orientation. These first weeks will give you a
basic understanding of TI, our business units and products, and the program itself, along
with information on how to navigate corporate life and your first taste of engineering tools
and skills. As soon as orientation ends, you will jump into your first of two rotation
assignments with either an Analog or Embedded Processing focus.
The Field rotation is located in the home country and is centered on learning how to work
directly with customers to solve their problems and position TI to gain share. You’ll have an
assigned group of customers and will dive deep to understand their end equipment and
applications and how to apply TI technology.
The Factory rotation puts you on an applications team in one of TI’s product lines at the
company’s headquarters in Dallas, Texas. During this assignment, you will gain a deep
understanding of specific products within the business unit – how to position them, how to
understand problems/barriers, how to test/debug and how to solve customer problems on a
system level. Both rotations are hands-on, highly-challenging and technical problemsolving focused with the goal of helping you create compelling solutions and win business
for TI.
At the end of your program, you will become a member of one of our Field or Factory (U.S.
participants only) applications teams, where you will have direct responsibility for
understanding the product group through the eyes of the customer and for solving problems
to gain share within our customer accounts.
And it doesn’t stop there. You’ll be mentored along the way by the best and brightest
engineering minds and take part in customized learning opportunities. You’ll also have the
chance to travel to TI sites and customer facilities within your region of the world and gain
meaningful experience working directly with global team members and customers.
