About the Institution
Anna University - BIT Campus, Tiruchirappalli,
has been established by theGovernment of
Tamil Nadu as a ‘Technical Institution’ at
Tiruchirappalli - known as Rock Fort city, with
its rich cultural heritage and home to many
reputed
educational
Institutions.
The
Institution is established with a view to impart
quality student centered technical education,
so as to produce proven technocrats and to
strive hard for continuous development and
improvement in learning, research and
developmental activities. Teaching, Research
and Extension services are carried through
the Departments and Centers of the
Institution. The Institution also works towards
fostering partnerships with Academic and
Industrial experts to provide quality education
and
opportunities
for
entrepreneurial
development by providing hands-on training in
the frontier areas. BIT has carved a niche for
itself in providing technical education in the
disciplines that are unique in our country.

PG and research programmes in various
disciplines.
About the Department
The Department of Civil Engineering offers
B.E. Civil Engineering, M.E. (Environmental
Engg) and M.E (Structural Engg).
The
Department has dedicated and qualified
faculty members besides well equipped
laboratories. There are 23 Ph.D. students
registered for their research programme under
part-time mode.
The department has
provided various consultancy services in
construction, water resources,highway, air
pollution and other related projects.
About the Conference
The aim of the TEQIP sponsored National
Conference on Recent Trends in Civil and
Environmental Engineering – RTCEE’16 will
create forum to researchers, academicians,
practicing professionals working in departments
to share the recent trends and ideas in Civil
Engineering as well Environmental Engineering.
All the topics are aimed to the state-of-art of
various researches, observation and results,
sharing the findings and communicating the
latest conformations to the students’ community
and industrialists.
