Laura is the Manager - North America Unclaimed Property, responsible for Eaton's compliance
with Unclaimed Property laws in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Dominican Republic. Eaton is a
global technology leader in diversified power management solutions that make electrical,
hydraulic and mechanical power operate more efficiently, effectively, safely and sustainably.
Laura joined Eaton in August 2012 after spending eight years as a Vice President at Keane and
five years as Senior Manager at Ernst & Young LLP. Laura served Fortune 500 clients across the
country in both firms’ unclaimed property consulting and advisory practices.
Laura is a proven business advocate with excellent communication skills who has provided
pivotal multi-disciplinary support to a broad base of corporate clients in her 30-plus year career.
She has a depth and variety of strengths in the unclaimed property compliance arena. Laura
assisted clients in a broad range of unclaimed funds advisory services and directives aimed at
minimizing exposure, reducing liability and managing audit and compliance strategies. She has
structured unclaimed property reporting and compliance programs for acquired businesses and
new product developments.
Prior to her consulting career Laura spent eleven years as in-house legal counsel for a
Pennsylvania based electric utility in a variety of capacities, including unclaimed property and
securities compliance as well as corporate finance transactions. She also directed the
unclaimed property lobbying efforts of a large multi-product non-bank financial institution.
Laura is Co-Chair of the Professional Development Committee and is a member of the UPPO
Government Relations and Advocacy Committe. She previously served two terms as UPPO’s
Midwestern Vice President. She is an active member of the Council on State Taxation’s
Abandoned and Unclaimed Property Task Force, which is engaged in efforts to enact business
friendly laws and regulations in targeted states. Laura has been a frequent speaker about
unclaimed property at local and national conferences.
Laura has an undergraduate degree in writing and speech communications and received her
Juris Doctor degree with honors from the University of Pittsburgh.
