Fall Lecture Series Thursday, October 4: Vote For Me – How many governors have called Chemung County home? How many presidents have visited Chemung County? Education coordinator Kerry Lippincott will discuss Chemung County’s political history. Thursday, October 11: Political Parties – Whether Whig, Democrat or Republican, there have been a variety of political parties in American history. Dr. Jim Twombly, Associate Professor of Political Science at Elmira College, will explore the history of American political parties. Thursday, October 18: Why Do People Vote the Way They Do? – Dr. John F. McNulty, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Binghamton University, will examine voter behavior. Thursday, October 25: Songs America Voted By - Balladeer Linda Russell will give a lively look at political campaigns through the songs that drove Americans to the polls and informed their voting before the days of radio and television.
