Environmental Measures
This facility meets or exceeds all stringent air quality standards of
the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ) and
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The air permit issued
limits the hours of operation of this facility, and the facility operates
typically in times of extremely hot or cold weather conditions.
This is a zero-discharge facility which means that water used to
operate the facility is recycled as opposed to being discharged.
The facility uses public water from the Buchanan County Public
Service Authority for inlet air cooling and for controlling nitrogen
oxide emissions.
