KX***H*** according to Certificate of Conformity CSA 14.2719243 (certificate number on the type label) and for all instruments with the number of the safety instruction (49581) on the type label. The level measuring instrument VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** is based on radar technology and is used to detect the distance between product surface and sensor by means of high frequency, electromagnetic waves in the GHz range. The electronics uses the running time of the signals reflected by the product surface to calculate the distance to the product surface. The VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** consist of an electronics housing, a process connection element and a sensor, an antenna. The measured products can be combustible liquids, gases, mist or vapour. The VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** are suitable for use in hazardous atmospheres of all combustible materials of Class I Division 2 Groups A, B, C, D and Class II Division II Groups F, G and Class III. The operating instructions as well as the applicable, national HazLoc mounting regulations and standards for electrical equipment must be observed. The installation of explosion-endangered systems must always be carried out by qualified personnel trained in explosion protection and being familiar with national regulations. Sensors installed in hazardous locations must be operated inside the specified electrical, thermal and mechanical parameters given within this document. Modification of the sensor can affect explosion protection and must be carreid out by staff authorized to perform such work by the manufacturer. 3 Technical data Electrical data VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** Power supply and signal circuit: (cores brown [+], blue [-]) 4 • U = 9.6 … 36 V DC Application conditions The max. permissible ambient temperatures depending on the temperature classes are specified in the below table. Temperature class Temperature on the sensor Ambient temperature on the electronics T6, T5, T4, T3, T2, T1 -20 … +50 °C -20 … +50 °C 49581-EN-150324 The prerequisites for operation in the absence of explosive mixtures can be found in the manufacturer specifications. 5 Protection against static electricity VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** 3 The VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** in the version with chargeable plastic parts, are provided with a caution label on the housing referring to the safety measures that must be taken in case electrostatic charging occurs during operation. Caution: Plastic parts! Danger of electrostatic charge! • • • Avoid friction No dry cleaning Installation: The VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** must be constructed/installed in such a way that: –– electrostatic charges are ruled out during operation, maintenance and cleaning –– process related electrostatic charges, e. g. by measuring media flowing past, are ruled out 6 Use of an overvoltage arrester 7 Material resistance If necessary, the VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** can be connected to an overvoltage arrester, e. g. type B62-36G or B62-30W from VEGA. VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** should only be used in media against which the wetted materials are sufficiently resistant. 8Grounding For the VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** in the version with mounting strap, the strap must be electrostatically (contact resistance ≤ 1 MΩ) grounded. 9 Option: • • • Special features The housing corresponds to the mechanical strain level "low". The instrument must be installed and operated in a way that ensures there is no danger of ignition from electrostatic charging. Mount VEGAPULS WL 61 in a way that adequately ensures that the sensor will not touch the vessel wall due to the movements of other vessel installations and flow conditions in the vessel. 49581-EN-150324 4 VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** 49581-EN-150324 Notes VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** 5 Notes 49581-EN-150324 6 VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** 49581-EN-150324 Notes VEGAPULS PSWL61.KX***H*** 7 All statements concerning scope of delivery, application, practical use and operating conditions of the sensors and processing systems correspond to the information available at the time of printing.
