University of Pittsburgh Department of Chemistry 2010 Alumni Awardee H. LEE NOBLE (BS 1962) H. Lee Noble earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Pitt’s School of Arts and Sciences in 1962. Following a 25 year career with the Bayer Corporation, Mr. Noble retired as executive vice president. While at Bayer, he served as board chair for Deerfield Urethane, a Bayer subsidiary, and president of the Bayer Polymer Division, where he doubled sales to $2 billion, completed four major acquisitions, and provided oversight of capital projects totaling more than $1.2 billion. Lee currently serves as chair of the board of directors of Fluorous Technologies, Inc., a provider of proprietary technology for the drug discovery and development industry, and he is the CEO of Noble Consulting, specializing in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and the financing of startāup companies, Active in directing community organizations, Mr. Noble has served as chair of Life’s Work of Western Pennsylvania and chair of the board of the Project for Freedom (formerly known as the Pittsburgh Project for Employment of Persons with Disabilities). At the University of Pittsburgh he is a member of the University’s Board of Trustees, where he has served on the Budget, Investment and Student Affairs committees. He is also a member of the Board of Visitors of the School of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. Lee’s support to the University has included gifts to the H. Lee Noble Scholarship Fund and the Chancellor Mark A. Nordenberg University Chair. .
