By utilizing municipal wastewater from a neighboring facility, SUEZ built an integrated solution, with a total capacity of 1,800 gallons per minute—more than enough to manage the facility’s demands for both process water and cooling water. The client benefitted commercially by selecting one provider to source all the innovative solutions needed at the water treatment plant. using our experience for your success large demands, end-to-end solution a custom solution even on a large scale LOUISIANA TEXAS Sasol Lake Charles Facility Chemical company When Sasol looked to expand their Lake Charles operations, they turned to SUEZ for an end-to-end solution that would serve the water needs of a new 8.1 billion ethane cracker and derivatives complex. This client owns one of the largest integrated chemical manufacturing complexes in the Western Hemisphere, and when they needed to renovate and expand capacity of their high-purity water system they turned to SUEZ. SUEZ designed, supplied and commissioned a fully integrated and multi-train process raw water and wastewater system, drawing upon a broad portfolio of proprietary technologies like the SuperPulsator® clarifier, demineralizers, condensate polishers and dissolved air flotation systems. Leveraging the knowledge gained by working around the globe, SUEZ delivered a sustainable, state-of-the-art solution designed to meet Sasol’s unique water treatment challenge. SUEZ created a fully integrated treatment system that focused on low energy usage for major components. The result was a high-purity water system with a maximum capacity to process 6,480 gallons per minute of river water that delivers 3,500 gallons per minute of demineralized effluent. municipal applications DRINKING WATER WASTEWATER BIOSOLIDS Surface Water Treatment Primary Treatment Primary Sludge Treatment Ground Water Treatment Secondary Treatment Secondary Sludge Treatment Desal Water Tertiary Treatment Septage Treatment CSO/SSO Treatment Incineration Recycle and Reuse sustainable solutions for the cities of tomorrow custom solution for a challenging requirement exceeding performance expectations COLORADO VIRGINIA Upper Blue Sanitation District Proctor’s Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant After an existing activated sludge process wasn’t able to bring down ammonia levels, SUEZ designed a customized solution to help meet permit requirements while minimizing the effect on the surrounding area. Faced with increasingly stringent effluent quality, the Proctor’s Creek wastewater treatment plant contracted SUEZ to help manage nutrient removal before releasing their wastewater into the Chesapeake Bay. Our team worked around the clock to design and supply four Biofor® units, designed for maximum ammonia removal in a compact footprint. Furthermore, we designed and supplied two DensaDeg® units to lower the total phosphorus levels to below the stringent effluent quality requirements. Together these units managed to improve water quality while limiting the environmental footprint of the utility. Using Meteor® Integrated Fixed Film Activated Sludge, SUEZ was able to increase treatment capacity to 35.6 million gallons per day. This allowed the client to meet the current, stringent quality standards of total inorganic nitrogen levels that are as low as 3 milligrams per liter. Best of all, SUEZ implemented the solution using the existing infrastructure, managing to cut costs and the project timeline. getting the most from wastewater Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility CALIFORNIA In an area plagued by drought and shrinking water supplies, the Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility in Southern California produces over 50 million gallons per day of water for businesses vital to the region’s economy. The plant is capable of producing five different grades of recycled water used as a primary source for irrigation, commercial and industrial use in Southern California. Projects of this kind are just one way that SUEZ is helping manage and protect valuable water resources. SUEZ provided different combinations of technology used to produce the different types of water including high-rate clarification, microfiltration, reverse osmosis, ultraviolet disinfection, advanced oxidation process and biological process. Recently as part of the Phase V expansion of the facility, SUEZ provided an ozonia® ozone system with capacity of 2,000 pounds per day to pretreat the source water secondary effluent and maximize plant efficiency. ions lut Pil o Tre So te a W t R &D S e r ipm en g bility Studies s e c vi tin rket Se es c i rv a rm Fiel d Aft e a ta Equ r c u i n o g / O& s t u O r M customer-focused solutions, tailored to your needs M e l i ob Mobile Solutions g g Short-term and emergency needs S cheduled operations, extra rental capacity, improved efficiency Water Outsourcing / O&M g g Field Services Long-term needs Higher level of customization approach Aftermarket g Installation, Start-up, Warranty g Extended life of customer equipment g Operation & Maintenance g Preventative maintenance g Resin Regeneration g Spare parts and consumables Piloting g Over 30 field-scale pilot units g R&D and commercial pilots Treatability Studies g g g Testing of external technologies g R&D Services g Technology Development g Research Collaborations g Value Engineering T esting at bench and semi industrial scale / analytical capabilities S upport the company from R&D, start-up to operation Expertise in processes design and engineering SUEZ in North America With over 120 years of experience, SUEZ has 3,400 employees in North America and generates more that $1 billion in revenue.
