Technical Bulletin B06-07 Sept 26/ 2006 New Power Vented GSW FVIR Tanks In the coming weeks new power vented FVIR tanks will be arriving in the field from our tank manufactures. We are supplying some preliminary technical documentation including a Quick reference chart to assist you with the installation and trouble shooting of the new Power Vented. GSW FVIR tanks. New GSW FVIR Tank Highlights • The flammable vapor sensor will indicate to the control module the presence of vapor, it is located close to the bottom of the tank right of the snorkel. The integrity of the sensor can be checked at room temperature which should measure at a normal operation range between 3 K Ohms and 100 K Ohms • The gas control valve is an integrated electronic control module containing a gas valve to regulate the gas used by the water heater and this control also contains the electronic module for the operation of the water heater. This control is responsive to the flame properties, sensing the presence or absence of flame and in the event of ignition failure or unintentional flame or flame extinguishments which forces a safety shutdown. The gas control valve also contains the thermostat that controls the temperature of the water, the high limit safety switch and flammable vapor sensor controls. • The reading on the pressure switch remains the same at -.15” WC. • For further information please contact GSW @ 888-599-2837 See back of page for GSW’s Reference Guide. 1 2
