Factory Pre-Wiring Packages This catalog has been designed to assist you in selecting a pre-wired sports lighting system which meets your specific requirements or specifications. American Sports Lighting offers two standard pre-wired sports lighting systems: System “ES-1” is a system used for an integrally ballasted lighting system. Meaning the ballasts are located inside the light fixture and all other electrical components are contained in a distribution / disconnect box at the base of the pole. System “RBE” is a REMOTE BALLAST system. This UL Listed system includes all of the ballasts for the specific number of light fixtures. The ballasts and all of the other electrical components are contained in a Nema 3R enclosure at the base of the pole. Each of these systems can be configured to any voltage and/or phase. Since American Sports Lighting does not manufacture lighting fixtures, our systems have been designed to accept fixtures from any lighting fixture manufacturer. As with all American Sports Lighting pole products, standard foundation options include Anchor Base, Stub Base, and Embedded. As such, we have developed three distinct foundation base systems from which our customer can choose. Anchor Base (AB), Stub Base (ST), and Direct Embed (EM) pole structures can be provided in a variety of standard or custom designs. Foundation Designs, sealed by a Professional Engineer are available upon request at an additional fee. Anchor Base Most traditional and widely accepted design. Galvanized steel anchor bolts. Reinforced concrete foundation. Figure 17—Anchor Base Foundation Stub Base Consists of galvanized and mastic coated steel pipe with flange. Top flange mates with base plate of pole, joined with bolts. Easy to install, level and adjust. Lightweight compared to pre-cast concrete stubs. In most cases, poles can be set within a few days. Figure 18—Stub Base Foundation Direct Embedded Widely used in power transmission structures and utility poles. Pole base section is directly embedded into the earth. Steel reinforcement is typically not required for the foundation. Embedded portion of the pole is galvanized and mastic-coated.
