THE PROJECT DISCOVERY CAREER DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM is a hands-on
comprehensive curriculum which provides middle through high school special
needs students the skills necessary for entrance into the general curricula,
workforce and independent life. Designed with the diverse needs of special
education students in mind, this system consists of three components —
Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced. Students learn hundreds of real world
job skills in many diverse career cluster areas as well as the academic skills
needed to perform those tasks. Students also gain important life skills and
employability skills. Students exit the program with a better understanding of the
job world and the careers that interest them and that they have abilities for. The
curricula is ideal for addressing transition services and IDEA requirements.

THE PROJECT DISCOVERY CAREER DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM is a hands-on
comprehensive curriculum which provides middle through high school special
needs students the skills necessary for entrance into the general curricula,
workforce and independent life. Designed with the diverse needs of special
education students in mind, this system consists of three components —
Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced. Students learn hundreds of real world

THE SKILLS TRAINING SYSTEM curriculum helps students successfully exit high school with
“marketable skills.” This hands-on program provides a direct link between students, schools,
and businesses.
Students learn skills in one of eight career areas: Auto Detailing, Carpentry, Child Care,
Food Service, General Office Assistant, Horticulture/Greenhouse, Lawn Care/Landscaping,
and Retailing. These career areas are some of the most popular entry-level career fields.
The Skills Training System is composed of two components--Basic and Enhanced Skills
Training. Each component consists of a 90 hour program that instructs students in the
necessary competencies for entry-level work in one of the eight career areas. Students learn
job related skills, life skills, academic skills, safety, and exit with a Certificate of Skills
Completion to help make a successful transition to employment.
