Isolators and Hangers All mechanical equipment should be mounted on vibration isolators to prevent the transmission of vibration to the building structure. Vibration isolators shall be selected in accordance with the weight distribution so as to produce reasonably uniform deflection. Vibrator Mounts are designed for both high static deflections and simplified installation. The rubber is loaded in both shear and compression to provide rubber on shear performance as well as overload protection. They are one piece molded assemblies with skid resistant rubber ridged base plates and circular rubber ridged tops. The complete neoprene covering of the metal parts provides corrosion protection in either humid indoor or outdoor service. Spring Isolators, for maximum vibration control. Virtually eliminate structurally transmitted noise and vibration by installing equipment on spring isolators. Properly selected and installed spring isolators offer the greatest assurance that destructive vibration and noise will be eliminated or greatly reduced. Also unhoused and housed spring mounts are available. Unhoused spring mounts provide the greatest deflection - up to 2" to ensure excellent isolation. They are used to support equipment located on upper building levels where there are wide vibration sensitive spans. Housed mounts used on outdoor application. They have lateral stability and are recommended for moderate horizontal wind loads without seismic restraint requirements. Deflection Spring Hangers provide far greater vibration control than the lower deflection vibrator hangers. Each powder coated steel spring is in series with a neoprene cup, providing excellent isolation efficiency. The spring serves to isolate a broad range of disturbing vibration frequencies, while the rubber cup is a high frequency of noise break. All box type spring hangers are available pre-compressed from the factory with a scale for adjusting spring tension. They are similar to SLR restrained mounts in that they can be adjusted to limit vertical movement caused by weight changes during system start up, maintenance and seismic events. Spring hangers are also available with eyebolts top and bottom.
