GM INTRODUCES PRO-CUT WARTHOG
TO USA DEALERS

GM has sent a messenger notice to all US dealers reminding them
that as of August, 2011 Pro-Cut’s GYR or GYR-compatible models
are the only on-car lathes recommended for brake service, and
introducing Pro-Cut’s new Warthog model as an additional
approved base unit.

The Pro-Cut Warthog on-car lathe is a larger model than the standard PFM 9.2 and is belt vs. gear driven, generating about 2X the
start-up torque. The more massive body also delivers more natural
dampening and thereby superior surface finish on machine rotors.
Like the PFM 9.2, the Warthog easily accepts the GYR technology
package which directs technicians to make in-spec repairs and
records the results of every brake job.
“The Warthog is an incredibly robust and powerful lathe that we
designed for more industrial use. Its appeal, however, has wandered to all markets. It’s a good fit for GM with their exceptional
truck line. GM has worked closely with Pro-Cut and the Warthog
introduction is coupled with an attractive trade-out program that
gives thousands of dollars for the previously mandated PFM 9.2
lathe,” says Gary Pilbosian, GYR Program Manager.
