Achieve reliable control of hydraulic pitch systems using
proportional valves with KK Wind Solutions’ technology,
dedicated to wind.
KK Wind Solutions’ specialized WTC3 Hub Module ensures reliable
control of the pitch position in wind turbines.
Based on our long experience in electrical systems for wind turbines,
our 2nd generation module for pitch control is constructed and tested
to perform reliably, contributing to lowering O&M costs for your wind
power plant.
KK Wind Solutions’ field-tested technology enables control of up to
three proportional valves, controlling the current in the solenoids of
the proportional valve directly. As such, the module eliminates the
need for proportional valves within built-in control electronics.
The module can use both proportional valves with slider feedback
(differential transformer) and without. The module is also able to use
both linear position sensors, typically build into the hydraulic pistons,
or simple 4-20mA encoders.
The module can be controlled via robust CAN communication, in
which the main controller only needs to set the target pitch angle and
the module will control the values accordingly.
To maximize safety, the module has built-in functionality for
monitoring safety valve contactors.

The WTC3 Hub Module is designed to enable control of a number of
pitch system designs.
