This PSIBouw programme will contribute to: • • • • added social value added value for the client sustainable performance in the construction sector improved knowledge infrastructure. 2 Key projects PSIBouw Since 2005 more than 200 projects have been started due to the PSIBouw program Key projects of PSIBouw: •Living Building Concept •Building Information Model •Tempting prospects •Key publication on Construction education •Key publication on knowledge infrastructure •A2 convenant •….. Building Information Model Key project “Building Information Model” mustt be b seen as enabler bl for f the th improvement of the Dutch Construction Sector 3 Building Information Model NIST in USA calculated that failing communication in the American Construction Constr ction Ind Industry str cost abo aboutt $ 15,8 billion per year. (= € 1.600,--/m2/30jaar) Paid by: • The property owner: >65% • The building contractor: about 30% • The designer: <5% Building Information Model All disciplines in the Construction Chain can work TOGETHER when they all speak the same digital information language: buildingSMART! g 4 Building Information Model Building Information Model The implementation of interactive 4D tools show high performance 5 Council on building information Since beginning of 2007 PSIBouw i t ll d th installed the Dutch D t h councilil on building b ildi information (Bouw Informatie Raad BIR) Participants (12 members) are clients, construction companies, p suppliers, pp architect and consultancy companies Council on building information Reasons: • The need to work more efficient and deliver more quality • The need of an integrated construction process • ICT, as an enabler, will be an important tool • Before applying ICT you need to know what you want so there is a need of common agreements like IFC, IFD and IDM • The need to implement those agreements in the construction industry • The need of useful ICT, which fits to those agreements and are adoptable for organizations 6 Council on building information People and organization Process and information ICT Implementation To implement an integrated construction process there is a need for development on all three axes Council on building information Futuristic view on Process and Information • An integrated construction process • Life cycle approach • Functional specifications, design and verification • 3D-models 3D d l • More ‘concurrent’ engineering projects • Agreements on process and information 7 Council on building information Futuristic view on People and Organization • New roles, like system engineer and 3Dbuildingmodeller • More dependency on rules • More dependency on ICT • Management has to create conditions for change Council on building information Futuristic view on ICT • The Th use off an information i f ti structure t t conform Building Information Model (BIM) • More use of 3D-systems • Central availability of information • Information I f ti systems t have h to t become b more integrated 8 Council on building information Desired situation in 2012 Pro oject informatie Management proces & informatie Raamwerk UAV Raamwerk UAVgc Raamwerk DNR Raamwerk Aanvragen vergunningen Raamwerk Inkopen en afroepen besteldelen Raamwerk Wijzigen configuratie bouwwerk VISI VISI VISI VISI VISI/Sales VISI Object proces & informatie CEM/CBIM Functioneel specificeren CEM/CBIM Beheren configuratie bouwwerk CEM/CBIM Ramen van hoeveelheden CEM/CBIM Inkopen door gebruik ontwerp CEM/CBIM Uitvoering door gebruik ontwerp COINS COINS COINS COINS COINS CEM/CBIM Beheer & onderhoud door gebruik ontwerp COINS Object bibliotheken Object bibliotheek GWW Object bibliotheek B&U Object bibliotheek installaties Terreinmodel Bebouwde omgeving Ondergrond model CROWOB IFD ETIM/ITI N.t.b.
