Description
The R700A66B125 25-pair network interface demarcation (NID) block consists of a connectorized quick-clip block mounted on an 89-type stand-off bracket (Emerson R891
Series). The quick-clip block used is an R66M150X wired to either a receptacle or plug 50position RJ21 connector. The connector is located on the lower right side of the stand-off
bracket, and is equipped with a universal hold-down.
Columns A and B are common, and columns C and D are common. Network pairs are
punched down on column A. Customer premises equipment pairs are installed upon
mating of the RJ21 connector. Columns B and C are bridged using two-terminal bridging
clips (purchased separately as Emerson RA1), which completes the circuit. Removal of the
bridging clip isolates that pair, allowing testing without disconnection of the RJ21 connector.
Unstripped solid 20- to 26-gauge (.4 to .8 mm) conductors can be easily terminated using
an industry standard 714-type punch-down tool (Emerson R714B). Each block is supplied
with an integral fanning strip molded on both sides of the block, notched every ten rows
to simplify pair identification. The RJ21 connector has a dust cover attached to prevent
connector contamination during shipment and/or storage.
Each block is supplied with an orange hinged cover for marking and pair identification.
The R700A66B125 may also be ordered with a factory-installed orange metal backboard
(10" H x 8.5" W x 50" D), for immediate identification of the block as a demarcation interface.
Application
25-pair R700A66B125 blocks are used in telephone equipment rooms where a network
interface demarcation block is required.
