2015 Official Be Safe Video Contest Rules
Introduction: Kansas City Power and Light Company (“KCP&L”) and KCP&L Greater Missouri
Operations Company (“GMO”) are offering the KCP&L Be Safe Video Contest. The purpose of this video is to promote electrical safety.
Eligibility: You must live within the KCP&L service territory to be eligible to enter the contest. Everyone under 18 years of age who appears on screen must have a parent’s or guardian’s signature. Employees and their “immediate family” are not eligible to enter this contest. “Immediate family” includes a parent, sibling, child, spouse, grandparent or grandchild.
Start/End Dates: The submission and voting period begins at 12:01 a.m. (CDT) on March 25, 2015. The submission period and ends at 11:59 PM (CDT) on May 1, 2015. The voting period ends at 11:59 PM
(CDT) on May 8, 2015. The winners will be announced on May 14, 2015.
Video Rules :
1. Video must be no longer than 30 seconds in length.
2. Do not do anything unsafe while completing your video.
3. Do not violate copyright laws. Do not use brand names or logos your video.
4. Your video must be original content. Do not submit a video that has been submitted elsewhere or that is not of your own creation.
5. By submitting a video to this contest, you grant to KCP&L a royalty-free license to copy, distribute, modify, display and perform publicly and otherwise use, and authorize others to use, your video for any educational purpose in any media.
6. KCP&L will disqualify any entries it deems to contain offensive material.
7. Entries must be entered by 11:59 PM May 1, 2015 . The winner will be notified via Facebook and announced on KCP&L’s Facebook contest site on May 14, 2015.
8. Public voting on your videos begins when it is posted on the site, so it is better to submit your video earlier.
9. Entrants must agree to these terms and conditions, or the agreement of a legal guardian must be obtained if the entrant is a minor.
10. KCP&L reserves the right to disqualify any video that violates these rules.
How to Enter: Create your video entry following the above outlined requirements and upload it to the
KCP&L Be Safe contest group on Facebook: www.facebook.com/KCPLCONNECT . Once the videos are uploaded to KCP&L’s Be Safe Video page on Facebook, KCP&L will review each one to ensure all requirements are followed. Your video will be published on KCP&L’s video contest page after this screening process. KCP&L will screen all videos between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily.
Voting Process: Once all acceptable videos are published to the KCP&L voting page, you can begin to share your video to get votes. The voting process will last until 11:59 PM on May 8, 2015. The 5 videos with the most number of votes will go on to the final round to be judged by a KCP&L panel. “Acceptable” means follows all rules previously outlined. Failure to meet the rules will result in disqualification.
Final Winner Selection: The top five videos with the most votes will go on to the final round to be judged by KCP&L using the following criteria.
Judging Criteria: A panel of judges chosen by KCP&L will review all entries. The decisions of the judges on all matters relating to the contest are final and not open to review. All entries will be judged based on the following criteria:


Originality

Overall production quality
The chances of winning a prize are dependent on the number and quality of entries submitted prior to the deadline. If KCP&L does not receive enough entries of sufficient quantity or quality, KCP&L reserves the right not to award any prizes. One Grand Prize and People’s Choice will be selected from the top five videos submitted. The People’s Choice video will automatically go to the customer video with the most votes.
All accepted entries will have three additional chances to win. KCP&L will be reviewing all accepted videos for the following awards.


Prize Notification: The winning video will be announced on May 14. The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received. Winners will be notified by Facebook message or email within 24 hours following the selection. The winners will have two (2) calendar days to claim their prize after notification. In the event of a failure to claim or other ineligibility, alternate winners will be selected.
Each entrant selected, as a potential winner must comply with all terms and conditions set forth in these
Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all such requirements. If the winner cannot be contacted within two (2) calendar days of first notification attempt, if prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, if winner rejects his/her prize or in the event of noncompliance with these contest rules and requirements, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.
General Conditions: Entry in the KCP&L Be Safe Video Contest constitutes the winner's permission for the use of his/her name, photograph/likeness for advertising and promotional purposes for this and similar promotions without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Federal, state and local taxes and other fees that may be associated with the receipt of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners and guests agree to release and hold harmless KCP&L, GMO, Great Plains Energy, Inc. and their employees and directors from any liability, damages or claims arising from participation in the
KCP&L Be Safe Video Contest.
Privacy Policy
The personal information you submit on the entry form will only be used to contact you in the event you win the contest or if there is a question or issue regarding your video or its content. We will not disclose, give, sell, or transfer any personal information about you, unless required for law enforcement or by statute or court order. Your video will be made available to the public, so do not include personal

information about yourself or anyone else. KCP&L is using OfferPop to host the videos for this contest.
