● A diode is an example of a semi­conductor component ● The function of a diode is to control the direction of electricity ● Diodes act like a valve, where they only allow the electrons to flow in one direction through them. ● Think of a diode as a one­way street for electricity. ● Every diode has two terminals (ends) that are polarized.
