Flooded lead-acid batteries on charge emit hydrogen gas after reaching
the 80% charge point.
Concentrations of 4% and higher mixed with air may be explosive. A
PRO Alarm™ hydrogen gas detector will provide a warning and facilitate
the dissipation of hydrogen concentrations before they reach the lower
explosive limit (LEL) of 4%. In addition to protecting your employees
and property, the detector may also reduce the following costs:
A. Electricity – Heating – Air Conditioning. Instead of continuously
running an exhaust fan to prevent gas accumulation, the detector will activate a fan only if it is needed.
B. Insurance. Installation of a detector may result in a premium
reduction.
