Dr. Bhagavath is currently Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, New York. He completed his medical training at Madras Medical College, India. After completing OBGYN residency training and board certification in the UK, he worked for four years in Singapore before completing a second OBGYN residency training at Augusta, GA. He then completed fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in Dallas, TX and was a faculty at Brown University, Rhode Island, before joining the faculty at URMC. He has won numerous awards, many of them for teaching. He has published widely from genetics to clinical and surgical management of reproductive disorders. Currently his clinical and research focus is on the management of uterine fibroids. He is the director of the Scibetta Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery as well as codirector of the URMC Fibroid Center.
