3D V-Cutting Technology
A significant advantage to LumiSheet lies in the
production of the Light Guide Plate (LGP). Sourced
for its rigidity and light transmission properties, an
optical grade PMMA acrylic is etched with multiple
grooves using patented 3D V-cutting technology to
create a uniform matrix. This etched matrix acts as a
vehicle to transport light from the unit’s embedded
LEDs across the entire surface of the panel to deliver
homogeneous illumination.
Introduction to LumiSheet
Lumisheet is the world’s first integrated edge-lit light “panel“. Since its debut in 2003, millions of panels have
been installed worldwide in various applications including: Store Fixtures, Architectural, Signage, Theatre,
Interior Design, Special Events and many Residential and Commercial lighting projects. LumiSheet products
shipped during this time period are still functioning, maintenance free which is a true testament to the quality
technology of LumiSheet.

What distinguishes the LumiSheet product from other products is our worldwide patented design, which
enables the LED strips to be embedded within the Light Guide Plate (Panel) and the Heat Sink installed for
thermal management to maximize the LED lifespan. The end result is our ability to design and manufacture an
endless array of “frameless” freehand edge-lit LED light panels for special applications that would otherwise be
impossible to produce with traditional LED light panels.
The LumiSheet is unique in today’s marketplace. Our patented “3D V-cutting” technology on optical grade
acrylic plates. Results in edge-lit light panel with consistent uniformity of light distribution over the entire surface
of the panels. LumiSheet LED light panels are UL certified and meet the new LM79 / LM80 LED light standards.
Light weight and easily installed, LumiSheet is a modern design, that is eco-friendly, and available in super slim
sheet thickness of 6mm and 8mm.

Dongbu Lightec 3D V-cutting technology ensures that
light is evenly reflected throughout the surface of the
acrylic Light Guide Plate (LGP) by making grooves on the
LGP at specific intervals according to the location of the
light source and the direction of irradiation. The vertical
V-grooves are widely spaced when they are close to the
light source, but narrowly spaced when they are farther
away from the light source. The horizontal V-grooves
gradually grow wider and deeper as their distance from
the light source increases. Therefore, the brightness of
the front surface of the LGP is able to remain uniform.

Option 1: Wall Mounting with Z-Clips
• Do not use adhesive to attach reflective backing sheet to any surface for mounting. It is not designed to
support the weight of the LED light panel.
• Do not glue graphics, laminate, light diffuser or any material to the light panel acrylic surface as adhesives will
change light diffusion properties and damage the material.

• Do not remove the heat sink (aluminum strip on back) from the light panel.
• Ensure the heat sink is installed in free air or in contact with a metal or thermally conductive surface for heat

unscrewing (counter clockwise) etched “thumb wheel collar” at end of J-Hook
style assembly, and then sliding collar down on cable towards connected end
of cable at light box area.

Turn collar until very tight. Aircraft cable should be now locked in place. (cannot
slide out of J-Hook assembly) Repeat process with second J-Hook assembly.
⑤ Attach finished J-Hook assemblies onto / into appropriate corresponding
hardware previously installed (by you), on /in the desired ceiling area.

Cable length: 39 1/2” (1000mm)
This cable is used for LED light boxes less than 8 kg.
(Frame size smaller than 22” x 28”)
① Attach two (provided) “threaded mounting base”(s), to ceiling,
by inserting desired hardware (screws/hardware not provided, see
above) through opening in center of threaded base, and then into
ceiling material / anchor / reinforced area above. Ensure that the
mount distance between these two threaded base’s,(measured
center to center) is identical to the distance between the two
corresponding finished / covered / threaded bases, (pre-mounted
by the factory), on the top side of your led light box.
② Determine desired length of supplied aircraft cables, with
measuring tape (for final hanging height), and cut to suit using
SHARP wire cutters (not supplied).
③ Insert cut / finished cable length through small hole centered
in the flat side (bottom) of one of the two (internally threaded)
cylindrically shaped threaded base “cap”. Attach the “set screw
collar”, onto end of cable by passing cable through collar opening,
and then tightening the two set screws in the sides of collar with
supplied “ L” shaped “Allen key” (a form of screwdriver). Use
/ insert short end of Allen key into set screw opening to ensure
maximum “torque” when tightening. It is mandatory that the two
set screws are TIGHT! Repeat this step for the second (matching)
wire assembly.
④ Attach these two finished aircraft cable assemblies onto
threaded mounting bases on ceiling by rotating cylindrical shaped
“cap” (at each end of cable), clockwise, onto the ceiling mounted
threaded base. Rotate until tight Adjust any height differences
between the two cables, (or raise or lower the box) by repositioning
the set screw collar assemblies on the aircraft cables.
